I was just chaining Vulpix and this beautiful boy popped up. When you’re chaining it only boosts the shiny chance for the pokemon you’re chaining and I hadn’t deployed a lure, so this guy was a full rarity shiny. I think I’ll call him “Goldfincher”.

Thoughts on Pokemon Lets Go! Eevee so far
I love my Eevee.
I’m getting kind of bored of the battle system, but I do love chaining. And yet, I hate waiting for the chained mon to spawn. I keep having to resist the urge to pull out my 3DS and play it while I’m waiting. I did just get my first shiny though, a Meowth. I’ve always wanted to catch a Shiny Meowth (Love that pink tail).
I love the new high definition Pokemon graphics. As I’m playing this I really want Nintendo to make a new Pokemon Snap with these graphics.

I don’t know if I will or not, I’d be surprised if I don’t while trying for legendaries. Harvest Moon: Light of Hope had a similar feature where you could use a co-op mode, but I ended up using it less because it felt like cheating. I do wonder what will happen to your 2nd trainer if you go out of range, in Harvest Moon your co-op character automatically teleports to near you if you run too far away which is hilarious to watch with a Gem Sprite but will seem a bit odd with a human.
Be honest with yourselves: how many of you are going to be dual-wielding Joy-Cons so that you can play “co-op” mode on Let’s Go! Pikachu/Eevee?

@shiny-pokemon-giveaways
Just in case the first mention didn’t take.

@shiny-pokemon-giveaways
Based on a lionfish
Type: Water/Fire
Ability: Poison Point/Flame Body
The ever-burning spines of this pokemon produce a powerful poison, trainers are advised to never attempt to handle this pokemon with their bare hands. The spines are coated with a chemical that burns even underwater, because of this it has become a popular attraction for snorkelers and divers.

My entry for @shiny-pokemon-giveaways Gen 8 fake starter contest - a water starter that evolves into a Water/Fighting type at either the 2nd or 3rd stage. This pictures the entire evolutionary line counter-clockwise from the lower right and is based on Betta fish. The first evolution is based on wild type bettas, which have much smaller fins. 2nd phase is based on the Betta splendens we all know from pet stores everywhere. The final evolution gains kabuki style face markings and apparently a humanoid face. In Kabuki the kumadori makeup tells you about a character’s personality, red indicates a hero and lots of strong facial stripes indicates a very passionate/feisty character. The shiny version (not pictured) would change the stripes to a different color, either blue for a villainous fish or brown for a demonic one. It has a unique move, Flare Gills, that raises its attack power and has a chance of startling the opponent, making it flinch.

next pokemon wishlist
Some things I’d like in the next Pokemon game: The ability to skip cutscenes.
For the name rater and move deleter functions to get apps in the PC like the pokemon IV rating function did.
My dream Rotom power would be a super rare one that ensures the next pokemon generated either from a random encounter, fixed encounter or egg generated is shiny.
A lionfish pokemon.
Also another parrot species, or an evolution for chatot that’s more useful in the late game.
A new held item that if held while breeding causes the ability of the eggs to be completely random, but also has a small chance of giving the hidden ability if the parent didn’t already have it. It would be useful for when you’ve got a pokemon that has a good nature but the wrong ability, or want to unlock a hidden ability starter.

After almost a month and god knows how many resets this guy finally decided to appear. I love the blue color. I was beginning to wonder whether the RNG or @shiny-pokemon-giveaways would be the first to give one to me.

I have a feeling they’re probably not going to drop the DS line. For one thing the Switch, while a great console, isn’t really the kind of durable handheld that Nintendo is known for. Admittedly the 3DS isn’t either compared to the Gameboy line, but it’s still much more durable than mobile phones or the erstwhile PSP line (which is worth having for Persona 1-4 and Growlanser IV, but not much else). Then again, the truth is I want them to keep making DS style systems, I’ve come to love the duel screen functionality, particularly with games like Etrian Odyssey, which wouldn’t work nearly as well on a single screen system, particularly one like the Switch where the touch screen interface isn’t even available if you’re playing it on the TV. My point is I love playing my Switch around the house, I even got a little carrying case for it for when it’s going walkies away from the TV. But I don’t really think of it as a handheld system the way I think of my 3DS, and it’s definitely not leaving my house the way my 3DS does.
I keep having the feeling that at E3 either this year or next year Nintendo will probably be announcing a new dedicated handheld system, one that will take the ideas that have become popular in the DS/3DS and improve on them. And also does screenshots without Miiverse. I NEED some sort of 3DS screenshotting program Nintendo! At least modify the Miiverse button our 3DS’s still have so they can save screenshots to our SD cards.

During Nintendo’s strategy meeting, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima reiterated Nintendo’s support to the Nintendo 3DS business, which is still going strong in its seventh year. Kimishima says Nintendo will continue to make new software titles for the 3DS.

One thing I’d really like to come back in future Animal Crossing games: The Wild World design for the Exotic Screen. It’s this really cool looking screen that has two dragons, or maybe a dragon and another mythical beast. Anyway it’s way cooler looking than the version in other Animal Crossing games, it was one of my favorite items in Wild World and I was really disappointed when it got changed back to the original design in City Folk and New Leaf. It could come back as either a potential remake for the Exotic Screen or even as a separate item.
Another thing I’d really love; Remakes for the Moth Orchid that give it some different colored flowers.

Trading eggs
Since I had Sun I ended up trading eggs over to my new Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games so I could have well bred pokemon for my teams in the new games. I kinda feel sad that it means I’m not experimenting with new team builds as much, but it’s worth it for the dream ball alolan vulpix with hypnosis.

@nintendo - Interesting. Any chance of doing something like this for the Pokemon Stadium minigames?

I already miss Miiverse
@nintendo - I need Miiverse’s screencapping function for my 3DS. I just really miss being able to screencap my games. I can post stuff about my feelings here on Tumbler, but because of the way the 3DS is programmed I can’t screencap anything that doesn’t have a built-in screen-capping feature.
