quite literally the worst thing i can be insanely fixated on rn is a lost 90s anime that only have under half of the episodes available (all of which are in varied non english languages with no subtitles and most of them are in badly stretched 16:9)

the youtube "stop drawing like this" community doesn't want you to know this but you can shade however you want forever btw. it doesn't have to make sense in fact you should actively be pissing people off with how inaccurate your light source is
#ngl unless it's something dramatic or whatever my shading is simple af regardless of the light source#(or if there's one at all since most of the time i draw simple backgrounds and that shit doesn't matter#anyway i remember watching one of those 'do this not that' vids with shading#and one of them was 'don't make the shade the lighter/darker version of base color and welll i do that#although different than the video shown off#i take the base color and make it darker/lighter make it saturated a bit (it depends really) and slightly change the hue#i just think it looks nice#honestly they said that it wasn't bad but more so it was time consuming but girl my art takes hours regardless of what i do
