i dont think this site is actually going to go down. i think this is what will happen:

tomorrow, december 17th, the day of silence protest will occur. a large amount of users will be participating, making the people who are in the loop of the circulation of said protest info aka the most vocal and connected users of the site, think that their dash is completely dead

small blogging circles will continue to do their thing, many unaware of what is occurring outside of their world

posts will be made with screenshots of pornbots that havent even been deleted yet with staff @’d to point out how this sweep isn’t even working

users will devise workarounds to the filtering system when staff refuses to fix it

on december 18th, most of the day of silence protesters will return to the website. memes about the preceding day  /  the event will be reblogged en masse.  then it will become apparent  how many users actually jumped ship

staff will, once again, either refuse to listen and keep trying to drown this site in a capitalistic river while repeating over and over again that they “love” us, or make some significant bettering change months too late and blame it on a different event than its userbase protesting

none of the problems they were trying to solve will be solved

i will keep reblogging funy goodby tumlr memes until its out of fashion and then i will continue being here till im brave enough to deal with twitter or till i get sick of tumblr

The DHMIS Trailer Actually Tells Us the Plot

…Because a bunch of these scenes seem to fit together. Take, for instance, this:

Actually looks like one scene, judging by the lighting - Bird’s reaching out towards the purple thing as it fades away.

Of course, that doesn’t tell us much about the plot, but the other scenes do. Take these, for example:

Appears to be a sequence of events. Bird opens the door to the mayor’s office only to find him missing (note his expression of surprise as the door opens). Bird is then found at the scene of the crime - which is why the town’s locked up with his face on the monitors. He’s under arrest for the murder of the mayor.

These two also look like they go together:

Red is outside at first and observes what’s happening in the town - and when he arrives back, it’s locked up (note the mushrooms in both scenes). The creature he’s with has pointy ears - maybe a denizen of the forest?

And the key teacher-

- might come in handy here, given the lock on the door.

But the real kicker?

See that fellow in the brown jacket with a white inside and a red stripe around his neck? Sitting to the right of Bird? Looks like he has a dull blue hand?

That’s the missing mayor.

TL;DR: Bird’s been accused of murdering the mayor because he was the last person with him before he disappeared. Red goes on a trip outside, and comes back to find the town in lock down and Bird under arrest.

twitter etiquette for new users

replying is how you make friends! reply to anything you want and be friendly. don’t make rude jokes if you’re not friends already though!

quote retweeting is a no-no. when you “retweet with a comment” it’s not liked by content creators because it makes a new tweet out of their tweet and they don’t get the likes and retweets they would get if you’d just retweeted it straight up. if you want to comment on a retweet, reply to it or post a new tweet starting with “LRT” which stands for “last retweet” (it’s fine to quote retweet dumb memes and so on.)

you can make your tweets private. this means no one but your followers will be able to see what you post and no one will be able to retweet your content.  you can switch back and forth between private and public at will. some people make a separate private account to tweet personal stuff and let mutuals follow it only. it’s a good way to keep things separate.

what is privatter? privatter is a third party web app that content creators can allow to be attached to their twitter. it lets them tweet content that they can make exclusive to logged in users, followers, mutuals, or a specific list of users. as long as you are logged in to twitter and fall into the intended category, you’ll be able to see it. 

you can mute people you follow. (and those you don’t, ofc.) you can also mute words and phrases and entire conversations. if you mute someone you follow and they reply to you, that reply will still show up in your notifications. it’s a good way to keep the peace!

you can limit notifications to people who follow you or to mutuals. (notifications from people you follow will still show up regardless of which option you’ve selected.)

miscellaneous tips and warnings: if you accidentally unfollow and refollow someone, it won’t show up in their notifications as long as it’s within a couple minutes. no more accidental stuff. everyone can see who everyone follows so watch out. people will know if you unfollow. if you want to report someone and want them gone forever, report a tweet where they used a curse word. screenshotting tweets for harassment is a no-no and can get you banned. don’t be lame. don’t be a dick. vaguing others is generally really bad form and so is complaining about content within a fandom you’re in. use the mute tools at your disposal and don’t be a spoiler. you won’t come back from a rep like that and everyone sees everything.
