Introducing Daffie!! They’re another character important to the sanctuaryverse (my rise future!au) that appears in chapter 3. I live her whimsical, “creepy-crawly” vibe sm :3

Some more things abt Daffie I think are cool:

+ Her parents were huge Beatles fans, which partially explains her name lol 😭 they also listened to a lot of Pink Floyd :D

+ Daffie really likes the Peanuts comics! They often cut out the comic strips from the daily paper and incorporate them into their collages. Their favorite character is Woodstock :)

+ Daffie likes to tell campfire stories! She also likes telling scary ones, too—or at least the tales she’s borrowed from Lovecraftian fiction tee hee

+ Growing up, their favorite TV show was Gravity Falls!

+ Daffie is very talented when it comes to metalworking! Their father used to work in a John Deere assembly factory and taught them a lot abt machines. Mayfly (who would’ve been a mechanic in the good!future) ends up learning a lot from Daffie during her stay at their house <3

+ During the invasion, Daffie rescued a stray cat! The cat’s leg was terribly injured by a Kraang attack, but Daffie managed to save it :) she named it Peg (short for Peg-Leg) and it keeps her company around the house, feeding on mice and other treats from Daffie :3

I have so many other characters important to the sanctuaryverse, but I figured I’d let people get properly acquainted w my best girl first ‼️💗

more info abt mayfly i think is cool:

+ She sang in the church choir growing up; she’s really good but is super shy abt it!! Leo finds her voice really comforting tho, so she sings to him while they clean their house or cook together 💗

+ She knows how to dance almost as well as Donnie, ofc she’ll rarely show anybody but she can throw that sht in a CIRCLE

+ Mayfly’s nose twitches when she’s angry or upset! She’s also a chronic cuticle biter :((

+ Mayfly can cook really, really well— especially fried rice and gumbo. Lord, do not MESS with Mayfly and her okra bro 🤨🫵‼️

+ Her voice claim is Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, and her singing voice claim is India Arie!

+ As a kid, she used to collect cicada shells!

+ She likes reading about Greek mythology :3

+ Mayfly owned a disk of her Gramamma’s old R&B tracks. Unfortunately, it was lost during the invasion, so Leo helped her make a new one 😭💗

+ Her Grammamma gave her the nickname “Mayfly” when she was born :)
