To anyone who believes fairy tale romances never happen in real life, may I remind you that JRR and Edith Tolkien met and experienced a forbidden love in their youth, and then were separated for five whole years because of his guardian’s rules that he could not date till he was 21, and she got engaged to someone else only because she assumed he’d forgotten her and lost hope that she could ever be with him, but then on his 21st birthday, he wrote her a letter saying he still loved her and wanted to marry her, she responded basically saying ‘if I’d known you hadn’t left me on the shelf, I would never have said yes to anyone else,’ then a week later she greeted him at the train station and then immediately dumped her fiancé, and they got married and she converted to his religion and danced for him in a flowering field far away from the trenches into which he was drafted, which left such an impression that he crafted an entire story about the most beautiful maiden in the world who danced in the woods and made enormous sacrifices to be with the man she loved, and they had four kids and remained faithful to each other and blissfully grew old together and their gravestones are now marked with the names of that same fictional couple that he created, who broke every rule and overcame every possible obstacle to be together and get a happy ending, who only did all that because he based it all on their own real love story.

The new opening is not skippable. It shows the straw hats together having fun in their pre timeskip looks when we know we won’t see that again.

Then it flips to ace being led in chains to his death, hopeless.

Then Luffy and all the impel down escapees fall out of the sky to rescue him! Luffy looking like an avenging angel.

This stupid show is gonna ruin my life.

See if I were on level 2 the wild beasts hell I would simply pet the wild beasts and die happy.

Also when they saw the hippo I was more ready than Luffy to take that at face value - don’t care if it’s a baby don’t care if it’s small - hippos are like that.

I think it’s nice they clapped for the praying mantis’s performance tho buggy looked so disgruntled while doing so. And they feel bad about him getting stuck and wonder if they should do something.

I’ve decided deep down buggy is a good person and the reason he keeps failing to run away from luffy is because actually he likes him just a bit.

The interactions between these two that have occurred in the last 3 minutes are hilarious.

Luffy straight up saying “you’re a pretty crappy pirate to have been caught” like sir that is also your brother you are talking about! Tho ace was betrayed and honor bound so like he has rights and is my perfect boy still.

Buggy accidentally revealing the amulet is THE AMULET and thinking he’ll have to backstab Luffy to get it, and then thinking it went over Luffy’s head, and having the audacity to say Luffy’s an idiot after having just spilled the secret.

Luffy not giving a shit about the treasure map when it comes to saving Ace’s life.

Buggy feeling genuinely awful he is going to probably betray Luffy now that Luffy has given him the amulet, because Luffy has such big trusting eyes.

Buggy feeling so awful, in fact, that he crashes into a wall, which Luffy takes to mean they should go through the wall, while buggy is still plastered against it.
