„Transparency_01“ ist the first picture of a new serie I’m working on. The goal is to display how lucent we are on social networks, and on the internet in general. By sharing pictures and typing posts we’re not only showing our opinion and/or view, but also our exact location, the time that we were there and by whom we were accompanied. Our privacy on the internet is a fragile concept of thought. The serie consists of pictures of everyday scenaries, like clouds in the sky, urban life, people passing by, etc. I tried to build up a relation to he digital world by editing the pictures with a visual „VHS“ effect. The picture are cropped to a square-size to bring out the Instagram/ social media aspect. The data on the left side indicates the time, date, exact coordinates, altitude and the people I was with at the time I took the photograph. Those specifications may seem a bit too in-depth at first, but when you think about it, it’s exactly what data collecting, on social networks, is about.
