Hi! We're introducing Important Blue Internet Checkmarks here on Tumblr. They're a steal at $7.99—that's cheaper than some other places, when you consider that you get not one but TWO checkmarks for your blog on web only (for now). Why, you ask? Why not? Nothing matters! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In case you are new to Sobs, here’s a song from their first album:

I thought this was gonna be a cover of the Focus classic 'Hocus Pocus', but instead it's a mashup Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 3 Deep Purple songs ('Burn', 'Stormbringer', and 'Highway Star'), and a bit of The Edgar Winter Group's 'Frankenstein'. Oh, and a bit of 'Foreplay' by Boston thrown in towards the end. A brilliant metal/prog mashup! =D
All sung / riffed / soloed over the main theme of 'Hocus Pocus'. (they omit the yodeling and scatting)
Gabriela Gunčíková, Rudy Sarzo, Ken Mary, Scott Van Zen, Patrick Bradley, and Gary Schutt. Full credits and links back at Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy YT.
In case you are unfamiliar and would like to hear some *Dutch proggers going insane:
Love this re-imagining of the Soundgarden classic! =D

Listen/purchase: Stars fell on Alabama by Rita Payés & Joan Chamorro
Joan Chamorro is a brilliant musician with a genius eye for young talent. His Sant Andreu Jazz Band members all play at least one instrument and sing lead vocal. Some even lead their own combos as teenagers. Rita Payés plays trombone and sings.

This is a 1998 live set from Marc Bonilla and his band, with guest appearances on some songs by Keith Emerson (r.i.p.) and Glenn Hughes. One of the best versions I’ve ever heard of Tarkus! (the Emerson, Lake & Palmer classic epic from 1971). Tarkus starts at 33:17.
Insane guitar and great playing throughout this album. And I didn’t even know of its existence until about an hour ago, how does a thing like this stay a secret, LOL?! (Apparently released in 2013, nobody tells me nothin’!)
