platforming palestinian joy is just as important as sharing the suffering they're enduring during this genocide. despite continued displacement and bombardment, you cannot steal their joy and spirit. happy birthday to this sweet baby 🖤🇵🇸 may they grow up to see a free palestine
@how-about-will ohhh i think i get it !! i found that after studying anatomy for long enough you eventually get a sense of "volume" and 3D-mentionality which is easy to translate into lineart & sketch form (which for me just required enough practice w/ figures and all until it kinda just clicked in my brain some day :7) and eventually translates into how you perceive shadows as well
as for the actual rendering part one thing that helped me was doing hatching exercises! even if it's a completely different style than the one here it basically helps train your brain to recognize how shadows "wrap" around a three dimensional shape, and how light occlusion (i think that's what it's called ????) is going to make some areas appear darker at the points inbetween where the light and shadows meet etc
one of the first hatching exercises i did was on my valentine's day piece from a few months back and the way i started hatching with only midly darker colors/the midtones at first and got a feel for how the shadows went progressively darker as i wrapped them away from the light source really helped me get a feel for this sort of thing :oc
hope i explained that well wah sorry if i misinterpreted your comment and this wasn't what you were asking TT but i hope i could help anyhow!!
prolly not finishing this wip so dumping this here rq
