HELL [REDACTED] IT'S TIME FOR A NEW AND VERY OVERDUE EDITION OF THE MONTHLY POST! THE POST WHERE WE UPDATE YOU ON OUR ANIMATION'S PRODUCTION!

The holidays slowed things down a little bit for us so it was a slow month progress-wise, however we wanted to handle the popular fan request of showing off the redesigns of Flazey and Peragene...Here those are!

One thing we HAVE been working on is creating a more proper color script to give the short alot more pretty factor to it! Our color designer has ben having a blast with this and we cannot wait to utilize it!

But someone on the team said he looked "Looked like a Homestuck character" so we're forcing you all to look at this

We're glad youve all been enjoying our first clip! however we noticed alot wrong with it, to which we've been fixing (with the help of our cool color script)

In terms of animation progress, corey has been quite busy, so only a few new shots have been animated. However, the scene of our clip is NEARLY done with only about 3 shots left to go until we have our first fully animated scene! 9 more to go!

That will do it for this month's monthly post. consider throwing us a coin so we can continue production (and corey can sleep at night)

HELLO CITIZENS OF [REDACTED]. Long time no see! To all those who have stuck with us through the hiatus, thank you for sticking with us. To all those who may have forgotten we exist, HI!!!!! We always come back.

After a year, we are glad to post the first new edition of THE MONTHLY POST with your updates on everything we’ve been doing to make Please Stay Tuned a reality.

As mentioned before, we recently came off a hiatus that resulted from our director, Corey, needing to create their thesis film, “Pretty Kitty,” to graduate university. We are happy to announce that the project has been completed and Corey has successfully graduated! Yay! This also means they have returned to Please Stay Tuned, and the project has resumed.

We aren’t ready to jump into production just yet; currently, we are working on some behind-the-scenes tidying up, organizing files, and planning just a few more things before we officially exit the pre-production stage and enter the animation stage.

One thing we wanted to talk about mostly in the monthly post is the character designs. The cast of Please Stay Tuned was designed between 2017-2018, and we felt that most of them needed a facelift to match the current vision of our show’s vibe more and to bring more of a sense of style and identity to the production. We would like to show you what we have been working on in terms of design and how these characters have changed!

One of the characters we think needed the most “fixing” was Maxie. One of the greatest mysteries is, “what even is he?” Honestly, we still don’t know. He’s honestly just “Maxie,” and we didn’t think he looked “Maxie” enough, so we fed him to the character design team, and behold:

Maxie now looks more Maxie than ever.

One of the hardest characters to revise was CRT. While most of the character designs have changed, CRT’s has stayed pretty consistent since 2017. We felt his design could use some fixing since we noticed that a lot more TV heads have joined the scene since we started, and we wanted to make sure ours could stick out more in the genre of “TV head in some fancy clothes.” So we did that.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is the new CRT (now with 20% more guyfailure).

We gave Hostess a tail. That’s it.

Another big thing we have been working on behind the scenes is that when we started, we never actually had proper model sheets of the characters. We don’t know what Corey was thinking. As we hope to expand our team to include other animators, we have begun creating actual proper model sheets for the cast! We just finished Sonny; take a look!!!

We will be starting CRT soon, and once he is completed, we will likely be able to start the animation production while the other, more minor characters in the pilot are created. We will keep you updated on that.

We’re so happy to be back and able to deliver the Monthly Post again as we continue development on this amazing indie production of ours. Without the constraints of schoolwork stopping us, we are free to now go Full Steam Ahead on the production!

Since our hiatus, we also seem to have gained a decent handful of new followers, some who may have heard, and perhaps been dismayed, about missing out on the Indiegogo campaign. For those who missed out, keep an eye out next Indie Animation Day and in our next newsletter.

The Closed Circuit Layout Team has been rocking hard and we took out a TON of bg layouts this month...even some paints too! check out this shady tv store!

We'd also like to announce that while we promised backer rewards in the summer...well christmas in July came early, and thus ALL PHYSICAL BACKER REWARDS (POSTER, STICKER, AND KEYCHAIN) HAVE BEEN SHIPPED TO YOU!!!!!

You should be getting it soon!!!! We'd love to see pictures of the adventures some of you take your CRT keychains on or the beautiful places you stuck your stickers/posters! Tag us on twitter @pleasestay2nd or instagram @Please_Stay_Tuned_Official

To anyone who has received the Ink Drawing and up tier, we will fulfill those in the summer, as those rewards are a tad bit more custom.

Our main animator has been a bit busy, but...They worked hard! And with that we'd like to proudly say

8/195 shots complete.

Now alot of this was touching up old shots so not all months will be this good.

We'd like to share an example of these "touch ups" mainly shots from the trailer that we gave some edits to adapt to a slight style change as well as some compositing make-overs.

 We hope this makes us look a little nicer!!

The layout team has been knocking it out of the park these past few weeks! At least 50/195 shots now have a layout (not a fully painted background, but a finalized drawing of the background to be painted. This is enough to begin animating!) We'd like to share this one! (Layout by Ava Gisleson )

There is also one other piece of good news we'd like to share...

The Counter Has Gone Up.

That's right 2/195 shots have been completed. It's still going to be awhile before its going up more consistently as we still have a single animator and are prioritizing layouts right now but progress is coming along!!!!

Also, our indiegogo backer reward merch has officially been shipped out and is on the way, we still plan on officially shipping the merch and fulfilling all pre-release rewards (physical merch, character designs) this summer!

We will post pics of those adorable keychains when they arrive though...for all the CRT fans out there.
