And it’s official -- I am switching to a new blog. Why? Because this account is old as hell and I’m embarrassed by the things 17 year old me put on it. I’m not posting my new URL here publicly, but you’re welcome to message me to ask for it. This blog won’t be deleted, it’ll just be sitting here as an archive.

Yo, likely switching to a new blog soon. This personal has become a hot mess after 5+ years and I’m ready for a change.

How many times in all the reboots did I ask Chidi for help, he refused to help me and I had to get better on my own? Never. He always helped you.

I worry about how black and white the discourse on this site is, because you have feminist concepts which should be discussed (in order to make them more intersectional, adjust them with new information, and to build upon them) being presented as these cult-like ideas which nobody is allowed to challenge, which really defeats the idea of the feminist community on here, surely?
(I’m not talking about TERFs, by the way, because if you deny a group of women and attack them then there’s no excuse and that’s nasty, but I’m talking about other concepts which should be so open to discussion and nuance, where people are almost afraid to speak up and discuss the ideas in case they get pounced upon.)
And as a second disclaimer, this is not anti-feminism. It’s pro feminism. It’s increasingly scary how black and white things are, and how people aren’t given space to grow. Even the sarcastic tone of things, the point-scoring smack-down culture, is cringeworthy and bully-ish, and I hate it.
I didn’t become an opinionated, outspoken woman surrounded by a community like that, I can tell you. I think if I’d been in that culture I’d have been afraid to speak in the first place!
I genuinely believe that creating a kinder, more supportive online space, which is accepting and open and forgiving, and empowering, is a better way to go.

i love star trek but it was made in the 60s so you gotta take it with a grain of salt. sometimes multiple grains of salt. sometimes mounds of salt in the shape of the most poorly choreographed fight scene ever set to the silliest fight music ever featuring a guest appearance by william shatner’s nipples
