I fucking HATE so deeply when some minority tries to frame another minority as being more privileged.
Like there's this clip from mixed-ish where the mom wants to get a black doll and she's like "how are there all these disabled dolls but no black dolls". And like that's not a thing that happened irl. Like I'm black and I remember having some black dolls, very few but there were some but I don't remember seeing a single disabled doll until the more recent shift towards diversity.
I remember too in fresh off the boat there being this one episode where the asian main character was talking about how it was so easy for the black kid at school cause he was like automatically cool and didn't need like Jordans or whatever. And another episode where they were like why is it okay to use the C-word but not the N-word. And like yes neither of them are okay but the reason the N-word isn't seen as acceptable isn't because society likes black people more it's because black people fought really hard to get white people to stop calling them that. And often people do still use it without consequences.
And then seeing someone online try to compare mental health challenges to physical health challenges but like in completely different situations. They were saying something like 'oh if you break your leg that's understood but if you get depression that's not'. But the real difference is just acute vs chronic disabilities. Like yeah if you break your leg people will care but they'll also care if you lose someone close to you. But guess what, in neither situation will they care 4 months later when you're depressed from losing someone or dealing with chronic pain from your leg.
This was really just a rant but like yeah these comparisons paint a minority as being more privlidged than it is and it ignores the work that minority did to get whatever 'privlidge' they have
And overall it's just such a fucking stupid idea to paint another minority as the enemy. Dude, we're not the fucking enemy here

funny seeing parents plastering their kids online being like "I'm such a good parent, she doesn't even know the endings of these toxic phrases" like they aren't just fucking their kids up in a different way
like "I brought you into this world and I'm gonna make profit off of it"
like some of these kids look so uncomfortable TT why are their parents forcing them to do this just to show off how 'good' of a parent they are

Can we talk about the scene in Win or Lose where Vanessa gets THE INTERNET to track down her TWEEN DAUGHTER to her EXACT LOCATION like they send of photo of her and everything and it is not once brought up that that's concerning.
Like she gets all upset about the fact that Rochelle's at a party, ma'am the internet knows your daughter so well they could track down her exact location. you have bigger things to worry about.
just the fact that pixar is normalizing this, that kids aren't getting the same 'be careful on the internet you don't know who's out there' talks that we used to get
