“So be it. Karaoke is not for everyone, I guess,” he said. “Though I do not think skill level matters too much for casual events like these. But it is up to you!”

The mention of her shop and her third eye caught his interest though. He only had two eyes himself, after all, and he’d never really been inside a curio shop either.

“On the contrary! I think it sounds perfectly interesting. You have just taken on a more quiet life, is all. I commend you, for I could never. Too much silence makes me restless.” he fumbled with the beard, before grumbling out of frustration and taking it off, once again. “It is no big loss, everyone knows I am not Santa anyway...” he brought his eye back to her, as to not be rude.

“You would be correct in that I can predict the future, yes,” he said, but he grit his teeth as he continued, “I do not use that ability very much, though. I prefer to live in the present. I think the thought of discovering something terrible to come, and being unable to do anything about it, discourages me from doing so. But, it is excellent that you use yours to help others! I’m sure you are well appreciated where you come from.” 

Realizing that perhaps he was drawing it out a bit, Quill proceeded to speak again. “So if it is a curio shop, then you sell all sorts of rare or bizarre things, yes? Have you ever had to deal with thieves or the like? Someone not willing to pay the price?”

Quill pouted slightly, his hands on his hips. Rude. This was his performance, sure the screech was awful but he wasn’t going to die.

“No worries,” he said, his voice then suddenly sing-song, “You will be just fine, my little friend. How about we start with theatrics till you stop your aching?”

First, he waved back to Jhudora with a big grin. Then he adjusted the bow on the back of his head so it was symmetrical from each side -- or at least close to symmetrical. He then held his arms out. “You will love this, I am sure!”

His bows started to glow; and there was definitely no ignoring him now. In fact, they were all glowing different colors. At this a decently sized disco ball descended from the ceiling, and it reflected his glowing ribbons. It slowly began to spin, and the light scattered across the room. Over time it went from a crawling speed to a steady (but still not fast) standard disco ball spin (or whatever you’d call it.) Now this was a party.

Quill, meanwhile, was just finishing getting ready for his performance. He’d been to Unova before, but it’d been a while. He ... stood out, one thing was for certain. That was the point, though.

Snapping on his gloves, and adjusting his visor, he lightly tapped the mic to make sure it worked. Unfortunately, this gave rise to a brief, ear splitting feedback sound, to which he flinched. Yeesh.

The lights dimmed, and there stood Quill, as bright and beaming as ever. Throwing out his arms, he called out, to the ... small-ish crowd, “IT’S YOUR BOY, QUILL!” Deep down, for some mysterious reason, he felt that Kuzma would have worked better, but Quill was his stage name. That meant it was fancy.

The he spotted a familiar fellow of his species alongside a small blue Fighting type. “Jhudora!! Hello!!!”

It was Striaton City! Jhudora had always wanted to try the food since she had settled down in Nacrene City, but never found the time. However, with the holidays came the holiday deals and before she knew it, she had invited a friend of her’s– a riolu– to come with her! Richard was way too busy, and her brother simply wouldn’t do. He had a tournament to prepare for. 

She smiled down at Skray as she held the door open for him. 

“Have you ever been here before?” she asked.

Quill chuckled sheepishly. True, if he was to dress the part, then he should act it as well. Though, he’d never been a big celebrator of Christmas -- neither was his father. His mother had hardly even known what it was, and thus, he just hadn’t grown up with much of a Christmas spirit.

But for the sake of the entertainment of the others at the party, he had to do something.

“Well,” he began, “I am going to be singing karaoke later. For sure! That is the best part of the event, after all. The music. If you have any requests, then maybe I could take one!” he grinned.

“It is Quill, actually! Not Santa. By trade I am a musician, a keyboardist to be more specific! So, performing is actually my job! ... I have not heard much about you, though. It seems that, so far, you have had more questions than answers. What do you do, Miss Jhudora? Something exciting, I bet!”

Quill @ Jhudora: "Hohoho! You look like you are having a fun time. It brings a smile to my face! I promise, I am smiling through this beard. Here, why not take a candy cane? And now you must tell me, do you have any favorite Christmas carols or other holiday songs? I have found that everyone seems to like different ones."

“My favorite is actually an old Kalos Classic! It’s called Noel Nouvelet. It’s a lovely song, and if you can understand the language, it’s even more beautiful! What about yours, Santa? Is it Santa Claus is Coming to Town?” She giggled and held her hand over her mouth to cover it up– all ladylike.

Dunno, don't want to make a whole different sideblog just for rps with norehliananecdotes characters. So I'll do then here Or should I just keep the url the same regardless?

Rowan had heard of this event, and she had wanted to go ever since she heard about it. She didn’t know too much about the main performer, but to her that was no issue.

No way she was going alone though, that would take all the fun out of it!

Unfortunately for her, neither Joachim or Flavian seemed interested; they claimed to be busy. And Scarlett was nowhere to be found. This, of course, left just one option: Quill, the Gothitelle keyboardist who was to be collaborating with them soon. And so, Rowan had dragged Quill all the way to this concert. He hadn’t seemed to mind. In fact, he was quite enjoying himself.

With a bag of cheese flavored popcorn stuffed under one arm and a big chunk of cotton candy in the other, Rowan was practically jumping in place as a different Gothitelle appeared on stage. Quill was happy to watch quietly at the moment, though he did start to clap at one point.

Whether it was the sugar or just the energy surrounding her, Rowan could hardly contain herself. Quill worried she was getting a bit out of control. He made a move to place a firm hand on her shoulder to keep her in place, but he couldn’t stop her from yelling something out: 

“YOU SHOULD SHOULD PERFORM WITH US!!”

Quill pursed his lips. This was a bold move, and also kind of intrusive, considering that this concert was the Gothitelle’s, not theirs. He sunk back a bit, taking Rowan with him. “Rowan ... maybe you should have waited until after --”

but he was cut off by the Gardevoir’s continued whooping and hollering ...

 The night was young with a sky full of stars and neon lights and the screams of adoring fans in the concert hall below as they waited to see their favorite musicians live on stage. There were hot dog stands and candy floss booths serving guests as the opening band strummed their song, while others played games for fish and various assortments of other prizes. So far, the music festival was going great!

 Soairse felt just as pumped as her fans felt, and just a twinge of nervousness that always came up when she needed to perform. With her heart pounding deep in her chest, she re-applied a jittery coat of sparkly lip balm on her chapped lips while the opening band finished their routine. A stage hand walked towards her and gingerly told her “you’re up. Knock ‘em dead!”

 She swallowed hard. Being on stage alone had always been terrifying for her, but in the end it was all worth it just to see the smiles on everyone’s faces. This was it.

 Showtime.

 “Hello hello hello!” Soairse yelled to the crowd as she ran on stage, giving them a devilish smile as she took the mic from the announcer. “Let’s get spooky~!”

He was just gonna sit on the ground? Fair enough, Joachim figured. He was awfully big, after all. And made of metal. Perhaps it was for the best.

He was also grateful that a near-complete stranger was willing to pay for his drink. He’d have done it himself, but he wasn’t about to turn down such an offer, and gave the Golurk a rather chipper “thank you.”

... But that happy feeling vanishes not too long after, when the Golurk asks a rather ... prying question. Prying to Joachim, at least. The hybrid pursed his lips and his grip on the mug he held tightened. This was a bit of an awkward thing to discuss with a stranger. This one seemed more trustworthy than most, but even so ...

he wasn’t going to accept any other answer? It was likely Joachim couldn’t just take off either. Besides, that would be kinda rude, all things considered.

The Fairy type gave the large ghost a sheepish smile, and chuckled nervously. 

“I suppose there is something that’s been bringing me down a bit, but ah,” he paused for a moment. “’S not exactly something I wanna share with the world. But if you really aren’t gonna let me go then, well, one minute, and I should be a bit less reserved, yeah? With this.”

and then he started chugging as much as he could at once.

Joachim watched the taller Pokemon’s dancing with a surprised look on his face. He wasn’t expecting a Golurk of all Pokemon to be able to pull it off with aplomb -- in fact, he was actually pretty impressed.

He was also all too happy to hear the Ghost was willing to actually go through with the whole ‘tagging along to get drinks’ thing.

“That’s good, man! You got some nice moves there! I’d join you for another round of dancing, but I think we got some drinks to pick up first. So, come with me, then!”

Initially Joachim tried to tug on the Golurk’s hand, though he thought that perhaps that was too straightforward and so he simply motioned for the large Pokemon to follow him through the crowd as he looked for a drink stand. He’d seen one around earlier -- where was it? 

With a few minutes of more careful looking, he was able to spot the place a little ways ahead. And so, he continued to walk towards it. He walked at a quick pace. Maybe he was being too hasty? He wasn’t sure. Hopefully the Golurk was able to keep up. He really wanted a drink.

An Ampharos fronted the counter, at the moment she was busy setting out new bottles to be poured. Joachim sat himself down, leaving a space next to him for his new ‘companion’ to sit. He then leaned in towards the Ampharos and, making sure she could hear, said, “Gimme the strongest stuff you got.”
