"ah... my apologies! these areas hold such potential, even by my untrained eye - you see? i couldn't help getting a closer look."

nickname: anaxagoras (unless you are one of the few people who have been given express permission to call him anaxa)

gender: non binary

romantic orientation: unsure, prefers to refer to himself as greyromantic if pressed

preferred pet names: anaxa doesn't really understand the use of pet names - though if you're someone who's gotten far enough as to be in a relationship with him then he isn't against the odd pet name here and there. i don't think he has any preferred pet names so to speak - he will sometimes refer to his significant other as 'mine'

relationship status: unless specified (aka the few ships i've plotted out with @finalism) he's married to The Truth single and claims to be uninterested in the matters of forming relationships

opinion on true love: anaxa is aware of love as a concept. he has felt love and he's lost loved ones. generally he doesn't try to distinguish between types of love - more out of a lack of care in the matter than anything else. if pressed, though... he has a few varying arguments between the two - tending to state that he believes true love to exist but that he has no first-hand experience in the matter and doubts he ever will have. he is capable of love, he is capable of falling into something similar to true love... but anaxagoras the blasphemer isn't someone deserving of that kind of love

opinion on love at first sight: he doesn't believe in it. he thinks people 'experiencing' love at first sight are misguided at best and delusional at worst

how ‘romantic’ are they?:  surprisingly, anaxa is quite romantic when he's in an environment that allows that quieter side of him to flourish around everything else that's always running through his mind. it's usually small touches than grand gestures, things like remembering how you like your meals, gifting you small trinkets he's pieced together while keeping his hands busy so his mind can work away, showing you passages of certain books that remind him of you. small things that, to anaxa, are genuine gestures that show his partner is taking up space in his head

ideal physical traits: kind eyes, a voice that doesn't grate on his senses or bring on his migraines, taller than him (not hard, really) and careful hands

ideal personality traits: intelligent (not necessarily book smarts but able to hold a conversation with him when he's in his full flow at least) witty, independent

unattractive physical traits: someone who's harsh on his senses... someone who's loud and rough without meaning, harsh with their hands and messy or not as hygienic as he likes to be

unattractive personality traits: aglaea obtuse, unwilling to entertain his more... intense moments and thoughts, clinginess, inability to understand needing independence

ideal date: probably a day reading books and conferring on theories or sharing interesting passages... failing that i think he's really just a 'night in with good food' kind of person. he's easy to please really

do they have a type?: not really. i don't think he spends enough time thinking about relationships or romance to have really developed a 'type' that he finds most appealing

average relationship length: while anaxa has never really stopped long enough to be in a relationship - nor been a 'normal person' for long enough that anyone else could develop a genuine interest in him... he isn't the type for short relationships. he doesn't like the idea of opening up to someone and then separating from them soon after - he's the kind of guy that once you've got him, you've got him for a long time to come

preferred non-sexual intimacy: reading with someone, acts of service such as brushing his partner's hair, helping them undress after a long day, taking their shoes off for them (or even helping them get dressed for a big event)

opinion of public affection: big no no. doesn't really care about his own reputation but refuses to allow any potential partner of his to become mixed up in his own... complications

aventurine of stratagems doesn't play his hand safely. he doesn't choose the easiest option or hope for a safety rope to be extended his way when anyone else would think he's in over his head. still, this is quite the move - even for him. the galaxy ranger has already laid bare his plans, shown his hand and made a bet for aventurine to rise to. boothill intends to use him to get to oswaldo.

and yet, aventurine can't quite find it within himself to resist such an opportune interruption to his own machinations.

sat beside the ranger, naught more than a foot of space between them, aventurine watches mechanical fingers flick the lid off of the bottle of spirits they'd found themselves sharing. aventurine watches as boothill refills both of their empty glasses, allowing his lips to curl into something resembling a grin at the sight. how had they found themselves here, again? the stoneheart can't quite remember, not through the pleasant buzz of alcohol that lays thick across his senses. when had he convinced the ranger to drop the gun? it's not like any normal gunshot would make it through the amber beneath his skin, anyway. then again, this is a real galaxy ranger he's dealing with.

a real galaxy ranger pouring him a fresh drink and holding the glass towards stoneheart's gloved hands.

amethyst gaze focuses again, gloved hand lifting to accept the drink with a hint of added flair before his other is moving too. fingers wrap 'round boothill's wrist, they're delicate as much as they're firm - aventurine following suit as he leans forward and presses himself firmly against any boundary most would steer clear of crossing. lips curl, a flash of teeth in the low light of the hotel room and a voice low against the ranger's cheek.

"are you trying to loosen my lips? or perhaps my pockets, my dear business partner? or..." chin lifts, piercing gaze finding purchase in boothill's own. "perhaps you've a proposal only a drunk man would listen to?"

i'm aware that i don't actually have a proper rules doc/carrd on this blog just yet... one of those things i kept saying i was going to set up and then never did so i'm just gonna put a few things on this post under the cut since i'm trying to be more active. please leave a like or interact in some way with this post if you've read it!!

one. do not drag me into drama. my time on here is limited as it is at the moment and i just want to be able to log in and write a few things and leave again, i'm too old for tumblr drama now and have had my fair share over the years - just don't bother!! two. generally i am an extremely laid back person in terms of my online presence - however; i have really struggled in the past with duplicate anxiety. i still do struggle to an extent so tend to avoid duplicates. this isn't to say that i am just going to unfollow you if you're a multi adding a muse i write - i'm just going to... avoid the content that makes me uncomfortable. it's nothing personal it's just how i've worked out how to curate my space on here three. canon divergencies will occur frequently four. i will not write with minors five. generally i am open to shipping but i do enjoy putting time and plotting into ships to really get into the meat of them - if you're not willing to try the same then i'm afraid we really just aren't meant to write together six. i know where the block button is and i will use it if i have to

i haven't finished the newest patch just yet but i do have one hc from what i have done...

anaxa's insistence that people call him by his full name isn't completely borne out of his sense of pride or any kind of narcissism. rather, it's routed in the fact that his sister used to call him anaxa all of the time when they were younger. it's a sense of separation that he can create between him and the tragedy and his subsequent failure to bring her back fully if he doesn't have to hear the name she used for him. only... he refuses to explain to anyone why and no one takes him seriously at all.

perhaps i am just being autistic but why does all of the dialogue have to be so dense all of the time in these games.... i'm struggling so much to keep up with everyone's meanings behind their words it's making me want to just turn the game off and purely follow people's play throughs and commentary like... genuinely

there's something about watching the high elder try to maintain his composure that sets jing yuan's nerves on edge, has his heart beating rabbit-fast as he wills himself to maintain his own composure for just a little longer. just those few more seconds pushing that boundary between the dragon and lion in an attempt to see what happens next, to find those miniscule twitches and changes that give him the rush of adrenaline he craves so dearly.

"shameless..? you wound me, high elder." still, the lilt in the cloud knight's voice remains as he lingers in close, voice brushing 'gainst the delicate shell of pointed ear he could all but touch his lips to if given half a chance... no, not yet. a hand moves, then - fingers grazing dan feng's shoulder, then the back of his neck... push that limit a little more, see how far the high elder can maintain his perfectly constructed composure that would fool any other person looking in. tail flicks, lips curl into a grin as jing yuan allows himself to lean in just a few inches closer.

"whatever will you do with one as shameless as me, hm? perhaps you have some suitable correction or education in mind?" voice curls around the dragon as jing yuan lingers close, willing the high elder to give in to the shamelessness of it all - even only for a moment. ; @altarfates - cont.

amethyst gaze lifts from the coin between his fingers, focus falling on the galaxy ranger sat beside him. oh, how the stoneheart wants to speak his mind for once. "you think so? i wonder, exactly how much you know about me to say that with such confidence?"

" If things were different- you n' me might'a been friends a long time ago. Shame really, got mixed up in the opposite side a' things. "
