also, this is a bit of a warning (but its a warning about a thing i enjoy? idk) tumblr has a ton of inside jokes. incredibly niche inside jokes. follow enough people, and eventually you will start seeing posts that make absolutely no sense. you can usually figure out what is going on if you spend enough time searching for context, but sometimes it is pretty difficult if it is a screenshot that just looks kind of related to a post that was the source of an inside joke. the good news is that all you have to do is see the original posts of the inside joke, and you can understand what is going on. Its honestly fun and the best social media experience i have ever had.

also also. people here embrace 'cringe'. people will be intentionally odd and enthusiastic. to be very analytical for a moment, its a defensive mechanism to ward off anyone who is going to be a problem. easy to figure out who will judge you for earnestly enjoying anime or a cartoon or anything that gets labelled 'cringey' but is just an interest if you are intentionally turning that 'cringe' up. judgemental people will out themselves, and the block button is so easy to find (also, blocking people is not a dramatic statement. you can block anyone for any reason, whether its people you actively dislike to an author you would otherwise love but they write in first person and for for whatever reason that squicks you out. you can just block them. they won't show up on your dash anymore, and even reblogs from them won't show up. you don't have to post about it, you can just do it and move on. it will make your experience so refreshingly nice. trust me)
