idk how to phrase this in a way that doesn't sound mean but outside of just not paying that much attention I genuinely don't see how you could miss that something happened to sasha. even if you can't tell the difference between the two voice actors it is not subtle it is not meant to be a mystery you are meant to pick up on it. real sasha screams (bad fate has befallen her), funny voice effect and different voice mimicking real sasha (again, even if you can't tell the difference between the voices, the effect should tell you that something odd has happened here), not-sasha suddenly has trouble accessing her computer and characters are mentioning that she's acting a little weird (this isn't sasha). context clues should tell you that sasha has been replaced. it is meant to be dramatic irony you are meant to have more information than the characters do I am so confused as to why "omg I completely missed the not-them I didn't realise the voice actors changed I only realised she'd been replaced when jon did!" is so common. evelyn hewitt is literally credited as "not-sasha" at the end of episode 40 you are meant to know this how did you miss it.

listennnn I am aware of how many episodes this fucking podcast has but it's also really funny to me how much I've seen ppl forget facts stated directly to the listener and replace them with shipbrain explanations. "omg jon has a jar of ashes in his desk! does that mean he kept the ashes of gerry's page? wow thats so sweet." no? those are supposedly janes. martin gave them to jon to reassure him that jane was dead. because her body was incinerated. he says this in the first episode of season 2.

luv luv luv every time someone brings up carmilla in a video essay I can word for word predict the sentence they're going to say about it. "The book Carmilla, which predates Dracula by 25 years" and then they never mention anything else.

if you want to talk about something interesting about the book and not just paraphrase the first sentence on wikipedia, yeah sure it is about the fears of women's sexuality but you can also talk about how the book mentions that people are cursed to be vampires as a punishment for suicide!! that reflects the culture and time period it was written in why can't we explore that?? talk about the vampire lore that wasn't accepted into the wider cultural vampire canon even!! she can turn into a cat and phase through walls!!! there are interesting things in the text that aren't just "oh it was written before dracula, you know dracula right?"

I love the fact that the main lasting fandom legacy of the golden compass and the rest of the his dark materials series is just the dæmons. there are no golden compass au's, just dæmon au's, completely detached from the actual setting save for the animals.

Reading people's thoughts on the marble hornets comics after they were first released is so interesting. A lot of people mad that Tim wasn't the main character (an opinion I was expecting), a lot of people mad that the message of Marble Hornets wasn't actually "if you have serious mental health issues you are a burden on everyone around you and the best thing to do for everyone involved is kill yourself", a lot of people not understanding that Alex's idea to off anyone who had any tangential relation to the Operator was actually a bad and not well thought out plan (I think it's very interesting that the comic demonstrates this though a character who is a doctor. Not only because of the surface reading that she will be interacting with multiple people a day and therefore there is no way of knowing if she's spread it to anyone but also because Skully describes the Operator as a contagious illness). It's really makes you think.

☝🤓 um actually they probably worked at two different crystal shops. Jane worked at a shop called Good Energies in Archway and the shop Oliver is seen outside of in episode 42 (unamed, is recognised by the sign out the front) is in Soho which is about an hour walk away from Jane's store.

i feel like we, as a fandom, are sleeping on the fact that jane prentiss and oliver banks were coworkers briefly.
