Springtime
The harsh, cold winter has gone away
The weather no longer feels grey
I just saw a red bird today
Which means it’s springtime hurray!
Springtime is here!
Bringing happiness and cheer
You can feel it in the air
It’s at the beginning of the year.
In the grass you can see Badgers peeking
And the squirrels doing some acorn-seeking
You can see the chipmunks squeaking
And the orchard mantis sneaking
Spring is a beautiful sight
The sun is not too dim, not too bright
The flowers are dancing with all their might
Seeing them, I almost forgot my appetite!
When the bears and bats wake up
When the icy-cold winter melts up
When you can see the butter soft buttercups
When you can see the roses on the shrub
Then you know that it’s springtime

The supermarket- An abecedarian poem
A door that makes a jingling sound
Bouncing and echoing all around
Cashiers so friendly that they don’t mind even if you’re a few bucks short
Deals and discounts just right near the toilet paper fort
Extra offers today!
Figs so yummy and delicious
Grapes that are the most scrumptious
Hot peppers so hot that they can blow your top off!
Ice-cold freezers that stock frozen peas and sherbets
Jams and jam tarts packed in boxes
Ketchup, mustard and other condiments
Lemons so citrusy and full of juice
Mantelshelves stocked full of numerous yummy stuff
Nuts and berries have a special corner
Orange marmalade, orange juice, orange jam, orange squash and oranges on the other
Pies for tasting, coffee beans for smelling
Queen of the supermarket foods, Queen Chips, is seated on another table
Ramen, Masala Dosa, Vin Rouge and Sushi the migrants looking for their new counters
Shelves and counters stocked with sweet, spicy, fizzy and salty goodies
Tomatoes, tapioca, tacos and tamarind
Ube and Upma as well
Vanilla crackers, vanilla beans, vanilla frosting, vanilla beans and vanilla too!
Wow! There’s more than just food here
Xylophones and guitars playing as a background score
Yikes! Such a huge bill!
Zealous is one word to describe this place, but alluring is the other

The lily & the buttercup
Heartwarming to see
Delicate to hold
Emitting a luminous light that keeps you warm in the cold
It’s the lily in the valley
Standing near it is a tiny yellow floret
Who, when the ice melts up
Introduces herself as the butter soft buttercup
The lily wondered, “A crown of gold
With a stalk so green
Glowing beauty
She stands out like a queen!”
The lily asked a daisy nearby
“Who is this maiden?
With a head so high
Who is she?
A whole lot prettier than me?”
The daisy replied, “She dances with the most
Charm, grace and ease
She also provides the nectar
For the busy bees”
The lily went up to the buttercup
And asked her to be her friend
“Ugh! Get lost, dummy!”Said the buttercup.
The lily returned to his spot and said, “Well that was not what I did expect!
I’ve learnt my lesson, that nobody’s perfect”
