jj finding out you’re not taking care of yourself, whether you’re only getting a little bit of sleep or not properly feeding yourself

he’s instantly flabbergasted when you let it slip, and then he’s flabbergasted that’s he’s flabbergasted —

he’s eaten food FAR outside of its expiration date and is not the best at making the best decisions for himself so if he’s surprised and taken a back he thinks thats a problem!!!!

is instantly into mother hen mode, he’s getting your day lined up (and it’s surprisingly very productive), helping you do the tasks you’re not very enthusiastic about doing, hes putting on your favorite movie or your favorite comfort tv series and making everything nice and cozy for you

he just thinks you do so much for him that making sure you’re heathy and happy is the least he could do 😭

jj’s little post it’s :( ones like “ask mrs. heyward to lunch” or his work schedule

i honestly feel like the majority of jj’s fridge would be covered in them loll

like

“lunch with mrs. heyward, 1:00, wed”

“out of oj”

“job interview 9 AM!!!”

“extra shift on sat, over time pay. it’s worth it.”

“dinner @ the chateau.”

“get gas otw to work!”

and then one to you that’s like

“i know you ate the rest of my sour patch kids, i forgive you bc i love you, but i’ll remember this.”

Can you imagine if your parents came over to JJs apartment for whatever reason. Maybe your mom bought him some towels and you walk in on them making dinner or something

this would be so cute omg

bc i see jj for a while being really uncomfortable around your parents like — he’s never really needed to make a good impression for anyone bc everyone knows who he is and where he comes from…but your parents?? they give him a chance, they extend an olive branch out to him for whatever reason - and that’s off putting to him

so he’s very cautious around your parents and you notice it obviously and tell him he doesn’t need to think so much about it but he can’t help it! he doesn’t want them to think badly of him 😭 so he hates when you leave him alone with your parents

so when you walk in on jj and your mom in the kitchen and jj’s laughing at a story your mom is telling - it’s a story about you that’s gonna be embarrassing to know that jj has heard it but it doesn’t matter cause it’s the most relaxed you’ve ever seen him with your parents

he’s relaxed, he’s smiling and you can tell that he’s speaking freely and not stressing out about every word he says

it’s so heart warming 😭

goody two shoes!kook reader learning how to have some fun at a keg and playing beer pong against jj ok just imagine the teasing .

oh yeah he absolutely would

i’m thinking if this is before any relationship starts with them and it’s the kegger she’s dragged to (aka our inciting incident 😈) the teasing would be off the charts because

“ms goody two shoes is gonna get down and have some fun?” “never would’ve thought i’d see the day i’d see you with a solo cup.”

but like it wouldn’t be in a flirty way lol

but after they start catching feelings? FLIRT CENTRAL bc ofc their relationship is a secret because pogue bad boy corrupting figure 8’s sweetheart would start a frenzy

and it honestly gets him into some trouble bc he’s not very good at hiding that he’s flirting with you

“who knew figure 8’s angel would be so good a beer pong! maybe you need to give me some private lessons.”

oh and god forbid rafe or any other kook presses him on his flirting bc he will run his mouth so bad and probably end up in a tussle

stop that’s so cute 😭

his fridge would be mostly pictures of you and him and a few little posts to remind him of thing he needs to do and a few other time sensitive things he needs to be reminded of

and the photos are so cute too 😭 they’re all old memories of you guys at the chateau and in the marsh

a few of you asleep - that you’ll tease him about being creepy even though you really think it’s endearing that he has the pictures. he’d emerge from the hall and see you all bright and happy

“what’s got you all smiley?”

he’d say and you’d make quick work of meeting him where he stood and wrap your arms around him,

“you love me.”

“you just figure that out now?”

i was reading through your navigation post (which is super cute btw!) but i saw something about you possibly having a new series and to come ask you about it....

i am intrigued.....

hi lovely! thank you! i did it super fast and didn't want to change the whole theme but want to snazz the place up loll

but in terms of the series! first and foremost i don't know for sure if i'll be committing to it, right now it terms of obx writing the final part to pride is taking top priority but afterwards....who knows hehe

but! the series is based off an idea i had like three years ago, the readers dad is involved is a kingpin of some sort (giving "bad guy but good dad" vibes) and used to be involved with jj's dad a long time ago but something happens between them that causes a serious beef that's lasted for years but some way, some how, jj and the reader end up falling for each other

so it's definitely giving romeo and juliet vibes but with crime

but like i said i'm not sure if i'll fully commit to it - im not even sure if that would be something anyone is interested in but definitely let me know if it is! maybe if enough people like the idea and want to see more of it i'll spend some time on it and move forward with it

can you imagine visting jj’s apartment and his fridge and pantry’s just left overs from the heywards and beer.

no because that’s literally what it looks like 😭

jj gets his first apartment 20 minutes away from john b’s house (pre it burning down, post chateau death then they live in the same complex and maybe even the same apartment)

it’s not the best but it works out

hes showing everyone else around and you hang back to check out the kitchen thinking about how you can help make this little apartment feel like a home and then you open the pantry

the pantry has: a case of water, a few open boxes of cereal he took when he left john b’s - meaning they’re almost empty and stale, and one box of kraft mac and cheese

the fridge has: a plate from mrs.heyward saran wrapped from the dinner you had at pope’s yesterday, a few bottles of beer and a half drunken watermelon arizona tea — and condiments for some reason? he has ketchup, mustard and pickles but nothing to eat it with

“jj! you have no food!”

“i have dinner from pope’s mom that’s absolutely gas! what are you talking about?”

“and what are you gonna eat tomorrow?”

“that is a problem for tomorrow isn’t it, sweetheart?”

and so you have to drag him to the grocery store after everyone leaves and put back half of the stuff he picks out bc it’s all junk food!!! and if it’s not junk food it’s kid cuisine knock offs 😭

jj taking you on a date and he’s like “do you wish you dated a smarter or richer guy?” 🥲

this would definitely come up during a late night talk, like maybe after date night or something 😭

the lights in your room are turned off, just your bedside lamp is illuminating your room. your hand is tangling itself in his hair and his fingers draw shapes on the back of your arm. you're nestled in comfortable silence when -

"do you wish you were with someone better?"

he says it's so quiet and fast that you almost don't catch it. your hands in his hair still and in that moment he wishes he didn't say a word. your eyebrows cinch together, confusion is written all over your face but your eyes are truly crestfallen. he winces at the sight. he hates that he made you look like that.

"what brought that on?" you ask.

he shakes his head, removing himself from you and rolling over onto his back,

"nothing. forget i said anything."

for a second he hopes that you'll drop it. logically he knows that you won't. now that he's said it, you have to make it right. you won't let him wallow in it. but you follow after him, rolling onto your side and leaning onto your elbow to look at him.

"i don't wish i was with anyone besides you, jj."

the vulnerability, even though he was the one who brought it on, is too much. his stomach is sinking with every passing second, goosebumps are covering his skin. he wasn't to go back to the atmosphere from the moment before he said anything. when he was relaxed in your arms, watching your skin warm under the yellow light of your beside lamp.

"seriously, babe, forget it. i was being stupid."

only a second goes by before you speak again.

"yeah you were, but doesn't mean i'm gonna forget what you said. because i love you." you say.

his fists uncurl and his shoulders roll back. he loves when you tell him you love him. he doesn't turn to look at you just yet but he knows you can tell he's listening. so you continue.

"i love you more than anyone. i think you're the best person i've ever met. there's no one in the world that could change the way i feel about you. there's no one else i'd rather be with than you, jj."

he loves you so much he could cry. he probably will some time in the near future. maybe when you're asleep in his arms, he'll shed a few tears - overwhelmed with the amount of love he holds for you. but he wouldn't change it. and neither would you.
