And now 100% more creepy...? Hey, hi, hello!

I did a thing. Got a sudden hit of inspiration and decided to close the 2025's MerMay Season with another Mermaid!Rose AU thing. Again, big picture, click and right click to open as to see it bigger. After the ✨2018 drawing and story idea✨ and the ✨2019 sims cutesy version,✨ here is Rose again, going 'Surprise Modafoka!' on some sailors who happened to fish the wrong mermaid. As far as she is concerned, dinner is served. Rose is no Ariel... I wanted to make her look creepy with the reflective eyes, but she rather looks goofily unhinged with that smile lol Oh well, I tried. Enjoy the special, for one day only, return of the Photoshop Bath™, the hair octopus™, and overly dark night shots absolutely no one was missing. My job is done, I contributed, so I'll be crawling back into my dark hole now. Hope you all are doing well. Christmas Flour Fight!!

It probably started with a bit of flour that fell on the wrong side of the counter and it would quickly escalate into a battle that would cover the whole kitchen in white. Then both would be banned from eating the cookies they had worked sooooo hard on. This image was “tirada a ferros”, (it was like pulling teeth equivalent) as we say here, but I managed to make the Christmas Special on time, with Rose and Christian enacting the flour war. Technically, Christmas for them would only be celebrated on January 7th because Moroi/Dhampirs, if religious, seem to follow the Russian Orthodox faith (at least Dimitri and Lissa do). Maybe I can manage a second Christmas Special for the occasion. And with this, I wish you some very Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas to all of you. Celebrate with in safety and may Santa be generous with you, after this shitty year I guess we all deserve something under the tree that make us smile.

Based on some sexy Dimitri requests - oh you know WHO you are XD - and a pic that Pintrest dropped on my lap during one of my “I’m-bored-I’ll-waste-time-on-Printest” days. So the concept is not originally mine… Pintrest also gave me another idea for at least one more pic I’m ITCHING to make. Anyway, had some fun putting this together, wasted all night finishing it and I’m going to bed at 7 am (as I queue this, that is). Here’s also the full image and an edited-to-high-hell version, because if there wasn’t a version even MORE edited, it’d not be me, right?

Well, I guess it's time to address the situation... or the lack of situation lol This is gonna be long, be warned. There's a TL;RD at the end if you wanna skip the wall of text. To start, thank you to the two anons who took the time to read the comic and prod me about it and the new people who started following this tumblr in spite of the Hiatus warning. Altho this place has been collecting dust for more than a year now, I'm still around, updating my side reblogs tumblr, so it's not like I dropped from the face of the earth.

The truth is, at this moment in time, I've feel out of love with making this comic. It was always a lot of work due to me being a perfectionist. I never used any extra rendering apps, all you've seen here is raw sims images and a lot of work on Photoshop, so much so it gave me a muscle contracture on my right shoulder (because I did all my work in bed with my laptop/drawing tablet in my lap. I never said I was a smart person lol) that still flares up from time to time because I learned nothing. Then the VA fandom was already quite small by the time I started doing this in 2015 and I never really advertised this in the fandom anyway. I always got the impression most of the fandom didn't like the OG comics as it was and most of the people that followed the comic were sims 2 fans because, well, it's made with the sims and the images were pretty (forever holding in my heart the people you said this &lt;;3) The recent "Vampire Academy" TV series (it was just in names, honestly) was the final nail in the coffin of my motivation. After information had leaked I was already disappointed in it, but after actually watching it, yeah no. Only plus to it was the surprise to see it was partially filmed in my country, in places where I have been myself. And lastly, and probably most importantly, I struggle with motivation a lot. It happens to us all, I am sure. It's no secret that I hated to panel, if I'd start all over again I'd just post the big images like many of you telling stories are doing now, it'd be less of a stress for me, but alas, I can't change formats now. And I said many times I was doing it mostly for myself, because I did love the comics based on the books, but doing it for yourself only gets you so far until you get bored. And I got bored. I'm actually surprised my hyper-focus on it lasted for as long as it did. I haven't been to Photoshop for editing - I used to make photomanipulations and other kinds of editing - for way over a year, so it's not only the comic that stopped.

I still have 7 pages to end chapter 6 in various degrees of editing, Veninorchid and Esotheria-sims have seen them, so they exist lol I will eventually finish editing them - it's mostly a Romitri flashback - and post them. But after that, I will have to decide how to proceed. Spending less time editing would help, but lowering the quality of my pages, the only thing people like about it, really doesn't sit well with me, because yeah, perfectionist.

So at the very least the remaining pages will be posted in early 2024, I might go back to it slowly, a little bit everyday so I don't burn out or put stress on my shoulder. But after that, it's up in the air. It's not like I've been staring at the walls during this time, I had other things taking my goldfish-like attention. I got interested in home bookbinding, which made me dig out old unfinished stories I once started and I've been trying to finish them and later try to bind them, because why the fuck not lol And on my reblogs tumblr I had this set of pictures about a Regency little story that people really loved and I'd like to add to it, but then again, all the editing it'd need *cries* I feel tugged in so many directions I fear I'll end up doing nothing lol

So the TL;DR is, I got bored with the comic because it was too much work and resulted in physical pain, I lacked the motivation and other things got my attention meanwhile. Chapter 6 will be be finished eventually, but after that it's up in the air. Cross my fingers that I get my mojo back while editing those pages. Still, a thank you to all of followed and are still following, sorry these were not the good news you wanted to read just because I made a post. You support up until now was what kept me going in the past, I can't thank you all enough.

1. are you named after anyone?

So the legend goes, since an aunt of mine couldn’t be my Godmother on the account of being on the other side of the planet, she got naming privileges. I was named after a good Venezuelan friend of hers. I have no idea how common my name is there, but here is sort of rare and people tend to either say it wrong the first time or slip into the closest sounding Portuguese name minutes later.

2. when was the last time you cried?

Depends. Out of anger to not break someone’s face? Last month. Out of feelings… can’t remember. It’s been a long while.

3. do you have kids?

I have very little patience for kids. I can deal with them for a few hours but 24/7 for 18 years? No, thank you.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

I have a PhD on it.

5. what sports do you play/have you played?

I did Karate for 3 years as part of my school’s extra-curricular sports, apart from P.E. I wanted gymnastics too, but classes tended to happen at the same time so I had to choose only one. I honestly loved it, in spite of being bruised all the time, had to stop when I went to University and never took it up again.

6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people?

Hair and then the eyes, because that’s what I used to enjoy drawing.

7. scary movies or happy endings?

Both. Both is good.

8. any special talents?

I was always at the top of the class in English, does that count? XD I can use Photoshop decently *shrug* I have no talents.

9. where were you born?

North of Portugal, where the country was born lol (you can google it)

10. what are your hobbies?

Photoshopping stuff and photography if I’m traveling. Was getting into cosplay when the pandemic happened and haven’t even been to events ever since. Was trying to go back into writing, but honestly, I am not good at it and after I finish this thing I have going on, I don’t think I’ll keep it up.

11. do you have any pets?

I have an almost 16 year old dog named Lucas. He was tossed into my garden as a puppy and we kept him.

12. how tall are you?

161 cm… 5’3”? I’m short.

13. fave subject in school?

English and E.V.T. (Educação Visual e Tecnológica / Visual and Technological Education, basically arts. I don’t think that subject still exists or has, at the very least, changed names. we’re talking 90’s here). I loved P.E. when it was either basketball or gymnastics or badminton. Hated when it was football, handball, volleyball or running XD

14. dream job?

I wanted to be a vet as a kid because I love animals, but I was/am dumb at Math and would never make it. Right now, if I could find a job in image editing or photography I’d be happy.

15. eye colour?

Brown. Regular ol’ brown, not the poetic amber or with gold flecks, just plain brown. My father and most of his brothers and sister had either green or blue eyes, wish I had them too.
