hello friends!! a lot of us are confused about what uni to choose and what degree to take [i know i am]. even though there’s only one uni where i live and it’s the one i have to go to, i still want to help you out with choosing the right uni + degree + giving some general tips about college:

choosing a college

a guide for applying

dos and don’ts

organising the colleges you want to go to

pick some you’re really interested in and apply for them

try to get over the fact that you weren’t accepted into the school you wanted to, if you weren’t. if you were, congrats <3

once you get accepted to a few, review your shortlist

rank your priorities by pros and cons

revisit some schools if you can + ask questions

focus on who you want to become

investigate possible jobs

understand the fees

compromise with your parents

don’t procrastinate, just think

choosing a degree

should i double major?

a quiz

check out your course requirements on your uni’s prospectus

don’t let someone pressure you into choosing something you don’t want to because in the end you’ll be stuck with something you don’t like, not them

draw lists of subjects you like + subjects you’re good at

draw up a shortlist with subjects you imagine yourself studying

do some research on the subjects

check if you have a specific job in mind

if you’re still struggling, ask a teacher or a guidance counselor to help you out, it’s what they’re there for

I had fears about this day

loneliness, anger, and brokenness

these things I expected in the shattered remains of us

 The shards of our memories were supposed to hurt

the dying embers of our love were supposed to burn

you were going to leave and never return

 Because of this I clung tighter to you

and your love became a lifeline

even when the rope was running out

  Still I clung

and your voice became a beacon

even when you went silent

 Maybe it was the distance pushing us apart

perhaps it all became too much

my hope was dwindling with my trust

 I fought for us

I really tried

thinking we were on the same battlefield

but your silence rang out louder than my battle cry

 Your touch was gone

your care disappeared

and along with your commitment, you went too
