Nada me dá uma reação mais visceral de desgosto do que ver o Zé dos quadrinhos com aqueles olhos azuis. Eu SEI que é pra completar a paleta de cores da bandeira nacional mas fodase, é muito melhor o olho castanho (na minha opinião, claro)

Poli, vc acha que Zé é umbandista? Pq olha, eu acho kkkk mas n sou da religião pra dizer com certeza, só notei muitas vezes ele usando roupinhas características nas capas todo prosa, e em edições mais antigas com assuntos que remetem a isso etc, pode ser tudo detalhe cultural carioca, n sei, oq vc acha?

Na minha cabeça Zé é umbandista, Paco é católico e Don não sei, agnóstico criado cristão talvez.

OPA aproveitando o dia de São Jorge pra responder essa. Realmente os quadrinhos não costumam entrar de forma explícita na questão da religião dos personagens, mas também é verdade que existem algumas referências interessantes no caso do Zé! Como, por exemplo, nos especiais Anos de Ouro do Zé Carioca, em que ele aparece com o clássico terno branco de malandro, parecendo o próprio Zé Pilintra. Particularmente, acho que o Zé é bem do tipo que só lembra de rezar quando a desgraça já tá batendo na porta, ou pra ganhar na loteca, OU ainda, pro time de futebol ganhar 😂 MAS, gosto de pensar que, mesmo não sendo uma pessoa religiosa praticante, o Zé é sim ligado ao sincretismo entre crenças católicas e a Umbanda. Por exemplo, pode até não ir a gira regularmente, mas todo fim de ano joga flores pra Iemanjá. Sexta feira, tá lá ele de branco. Em casa, com certeza, tem uma santinha e tem as contas do orixá dele. Ainda por cima o Zé deve ter aquela tia que fala: "Poxa, Zézinho. Um tempão que não te vejo na missa." e ter uma avó que diz: "Apareça mais vezes no terreiro, hein, seu Zé! Tá precisando bater cabeça!!!" essas coisas comuns de muita família no RJ. Em geral acho muito difícil pensar em um Zé que não tenha conexão nenhuma com religiões de matriz africana, sendo ele tão ligado a cultura do carnaval e do samba. Em relação aos outros dois caballeros, eu também acredito no catolicismo do Panchito e acho que colocaria o Donald como cristão protestante. Bônus um Zé vestido de pai de santo pra enganar o Pedrão

O pior que no México existe a mesma coisa, só que eles usam o número 41 e 42. Aparentemente isso ocorreu pq a polícia invadiu uma festa, e acabaram achando 42 homens da elite mexicana dançado entre si, e a metade estava vestida de mulher. Quando a polícia interviu, um deles fugiu, então ficou 41. Outros dizem que na verdade todos foram pra delegacia, mas o 42 era filho do governador e então tiveram que dizer que foi apenas "o baile das 41 mariconas" (em tradução livre). Enfim, anos depois, no período de 1910 a 1940, posso afirmar com toda a certeza que tudo que envolvia o número 41 era tirado graça, e as pessoas não queriam estar relacionadas.

Então imagina o Panchito lutando pela vida dele pra não ter nada, não estar num lugar, ou fazer nada com o número 41, e o Zé entrando na brincadeira (até demais) sobre o número 24.

Como pode a América Latina ser a coisa mais gay e mais homofóbica ao mesmo tempo? Pior que eu sabia disso pq tive de explicar todo o conceito do jogo do bicho pra um amigo mexicano (APÓS MOSTRAR UM VÍDEO DO PROGRAMA DO RATINHO) e ele me contou sobre o número 41 tbm 😭 enfim, acho q os dois deviam usar os números LGTV

A 1971 Zé Carioca comic that later inspired a 1975 kids music for the "O Mundo Maravilhoso de Walt Disney" (The Wonderful World of Walt Disney) LP. In this short story, after José tells Rosinha he directs people at the cinema, she daydreams about Zé's role in the movies only to find out later he is the usher.

So I just saw a video that in Brazil you give the first piece of a birthday cake to the person you love most. It got me thinking about Zé and reminded me of when you show differences between Mexican and Brazilian with him and Panchito in your comics. Do you think Zé ever gave his first birthday cake piece to Panchito and if yes, how do you think it went down? I wonder if both of them did traditions for each other. (I also read that there's a tradition in Mexico to sing Las Mañanitas in the morning.)

I did draw Zé singing las mañanitas to Panchito for his birthday last year tho! So I think it would be only fair for them to engage in Brazilian birthday traditions as well 😌 I mean, sure Panchito might get the first piece of cake during one of Zé's birthdays, but you gotta be mindful that more people would also feel entitled to that pastry!! So maybe there would be some infighting at the birthday table about who Zé should be more thankful to for being in his life XD I can't link it rn but I'm sure @kaichdreis did a fanart about this exact chaotic moment.

Poli! Já viu a série dos tres caballeros? Se sim, o que achou?

OI, vi siiim!! Após muito enrolar, nessas últimas duas semanas eu vi Legend of The Three Caballeros (dublado em ptbr, pois viva a dublagem nacional). De modo geral eu curti a série! Tem várias partes genuinamente engraçadas e mesmo algumas que poderiam ser consideradas "OOC" eu achei bem divertidas! Acho que no final das contas foi uma série que adicionou mais aos personagens do que tirou então... ganha um joinha na minha percepção 👍

Around that time in early 2020 there were solid rumors they wanted to replace the WDW attraction with Coco so it's an old joke in some parts of the USA TTC fandom that COVID happened to close everything and to stop that retheme from occurring since it got fully cancelled. Might have been too niche a reference..
