Maeio... Kart..

A week ago I played Mario Kart World. Not because I bought that piece-of-shit switch 2, god no, but because my cousin did and I decided that I may as well check out the one game available on it.

Let me just say I haven't felt anything in 28 weeks. Let's start with the good.

The game is good. Y'know, I definitely would give this game a 7/10. It's a Mario Kart game, the core of Mario Kart is fun so, naturally, this is good.

I like the photo mode, that was the most fun I had with the game because it's pretty good... runs at a lower framerate though...

The game looks pretty good. I would sure hope so. What really catches my eyes are the characters and the animations. They feel so alive and bouncy it almost brings me joy.

The character roster is so dumb and stupid and filled with bullshit that I actually love it.

I don't like being happy so listen to me bitch, please.

I think the drifting is better in Mario Kart 8. I don't know what to explain this but in 8, when you hold that trigger down, you immediately drift? It's not really like that in World because it happens a milsecond later and that matters a lot in a racing game. Ultimately, you get used to this but I prefer how drifting felt in 8.

Having to drive to the next track is fucking terrible. You literally spend more time getting to the damn track than actually racing on it and, oh my god, this sucks. It's so boring, it's not like a break too because there's still items and shit, you're still fucking racing. The difference is that there's no engaging track design!!

I think the concept of free roam in a game like this is dumbbb!! Who the hell wants to drive around a massive map like this? Anyway, the real sucky part of this is that I'm not interested in doing these missions and shit. What I am interested in are the costumes and they are a pain in the fucking ass. They've decided to use an "ARG" system for this. I don't know what that word means. Basically, you'll get a costume when the game feels like it and there is a very good chance you just won't fucking get a new costume after collecting shopping bag after shopping bag. It's so annoying. You can get costumes in the normal racing but the same problem applies.

Jumping being the same button as the drifting is such a massive pain in the fucking ass.

80 fucking dollars for a video game is ridiculous.

I know I bitched a lot, it's all I ever do now, but this is a good game. But it should be more, y'know? You gonna pay 80 dollars just for a "good" game? That shit's gotta be great and this isn't great to me. How sad!!!! This post sucks.
