Blah blah blah, born to guard the dimensional border between here and some other place, blah blah, don't worry about it.

But to suit that role of a ''guard'', Dri has a sort of sixth-sense built to identify who's human and who's not. Or who's a ~changed~ human. Or whatever. Particularly, it's meant to identify who are like him, so that he can shepherd them and keep track of who's where-- His own kind is plentiful back there, the air around them is easy to recognize. Humans are plentiful over here, easy to recognize. Apparently there's other kinds of creatures, too? Apparently humans can be touched by the supernatural? Interesting, interesting. Less easy to recognize, but easy to tell something's off!.

-- So, in a love letter to muns of not-quite-human muses, don't be surprised that this is something he can identify right away. He can't tell what you are, necessarily, unless he's run into a few of your kind already -- but he knows what you aren't, and 9 of 10 times will be inclined to investigate you based on that alone.

That said, he himself looks and plays the part of a human pretty darn well. So unless your muse has a similar sense or some other reason for suspicion, go ahead and treat him like anyone else! He's so normal, I promise.

Perceptive -- A perfect thing to be. Despite the poor rep of people in this sort of place, her cold words identify her as smart and keen. But that, paired with the opening she's allowed despite it-- His read on you seems more and more assured.

".. I guess it's pretty weird from where you're standing, right? Yeah--" Rubbing his neck, he glances around, taking stock of just where they are and how the gesture might read. "I... But the air around her as she looks him over makes it clear she doesn’t read it as a kindness. A trade, a want, a need. ‘Gifts’ given so late to strangers could be nothing else. Despite this read, she doesn’t look necessarily guarded. Certainly not relaxed or something stupid like that, as her hand rests on the strap of her bag and near the opening simply not a stance of high defense.

... ... Suddenly, whatever kinship he felt with this person is out the window-- Or no, maybe, more accurately... Whatever expectations he had for it is out the window. No, he's not sure what to make of that sight at all, but come on-- Stranger-san... You have to realize, an outburst like that, in a conversation like this, is incredibly funny.

Was it on purpose? Did he finally meet a cartoon-certified 'crazy person' ? Could it be both!?
