Pony Friends Forever is proud to announce our second special guest - original MLP illustrator, Allison Boisselle!

Allison joined Hasbro in 1988 and was an illustrator designer at the toy company until 1997. Allison was responsible for many of the original My Little Pony package illustrations including Sweetheart Sisters, Perfume Puffs, Glow & Shows, Color Swirls and Sippin' Soda Ponies, among many others. As part of the creative services department, she also illustrated for dozens of other classic toy lines including Cabbage Patch Kids, Baby Alive, Star Wars, Transformers, Jurssic Park & Tonka. Allison is a native New Englander, and currently resides in Lincoln, RI, where she freelances as an illustrator, fine artist and home decor/gift designer.

Allison will be joining us in San Antonio this fall! We can’t wait for you to meet her. 🌟 💕 🦄 🌈

Special Pony Friends Forever announcement from one of our special guests Wind Whistler ( Sarah Partridge )! While mostly known for her role as Wind Whistler in My Little Pony ‘n Friends (the series and the movie), she has voiced other cartoon characters. She played Jedda in the 1987 series, “Defenders Of The Earth” and a variety of roles in “The Legend of Prince Valiant” and “Darkwing Duck”. She also appeared in several on camera TV series and feature films.

It’s My Little Monday! With…Flat-Foot & Later Release Minty! It has been requested for more educational content so here we go! This is a somewhat uncommon look at both types of Minty together. The first 6 “collector pose” ponies were released twice. The originals had flat, smooth feet bottoms and are called ‘flat foot’. Later, they had the usual cupped foot bottom, to make it come out of the mold more easily. However, there are other differences, as you can see here. The NFF has the head raised higher, which helps her to not tip over. It was raised at the neck, that’s why she appears taller/they re-angled the neck hole. The originals FFs relied on their thick, high quality tail hair & very heavy dense metal washer inside to not fall forward. (But they do sometimes anyway) the CF (Concave Foot) have less of that issue. But then! Look at the arrows in the last photo. That’s FF Minty’s feet, and you can see she actually had hoof lines! It’s really too bad they removed these on the CF release, they are elegant and interesting to see. Every so often a later mold would have perhaps a slight bevel here or there, but it is very interesting to know where they thought the hoof line would actually be since pony legs just kind of “END”. This aspect makes them very interesting (to me) as a type of fantasy creature with elegant pointed/point-able legs able to tip toe (like Bouncy’s pose) or point the feet like LicketySplit.  This foot thing is revealed mostly only upon owning both types of a collectorpose. I got the FF in a fortunate sale, and had planned to sell her, but with these interesting differences, I will keep both.

It’s My Little Monday! With G1 Princess Royal Blue! This is her in her natural/normal state (non-euro, no alternate hair) and, like all the princesses, she’s lovely to see. The moon shape for her symbol has iridescent coated plastic gems. Why is it so shiny? It’s electroplate-chromed, which is a process done only in a factory. It only works on very hard plastics. But, it produces a shine just like metal…though it is vulnerable to scuffs, acetone and wear. She’s a pretty color of blue, with nice blue eyes. The Heartthrob pink comes across as more of a candy-contrast color when it’s paired with her blue body. The pink tinsel is fun too. I like the ruffly edges of the moon, it makes it seem cozy or lacy, it’s a very 80s thing to do. She is just a very charming princess! And…fortunately, she’s not too hard to get a hold of, so hopefully anyone who wants her, can collect her.

It’s My Little Monday! With….’spot the pony’ A different sort of MLM comes from an old art during an experimental phase. With only red dots on a white background, you can find a ground plane, and the prancing pony. This was fun to do and now that it’s been found again….it tempts me to revisit it. Doing pony art in a “its not a character portrait” way seems uncommon, but I think it can be used for fun. If anyone likes it, something else like this may appear here in the future.

It’s My Little Monday! With…a pair of re-hairs. Here is G3 baby Winter Ice and G1 baby tropical Pineapple. They’re bot “sort of costly” babies, so I was able to get them for less because they had no hair or severe hair cut. G3s are notoriously hard to re-hair because their neck glue can be terrible to get rid of. But, with her adorable snow man symbol, she’s a Christmas/Holiday pony so everyone wants her. Baby Pineapple I’m not sure why is costly–she just is. But she’s SO pretty with that contrasting blue and purple hair, bright tropical yellow color and the fun pink pineapples.  Pineapple’s hair isn’t supposed to be that long (It’s longer than normal-baby) but I tend to go a bit overboard when I rehair. Winter Ice did get her tinsel back too, even if her hair is also a little long. 2 ponies from opposite times of the year, and across 2 different generations.

For those traveling by air, please contact your airline to reschedule your flights accordingly.

Ticket packages and vendor reservations will be refunded in full and you will be sent a link via email to purchase Tradewinds once she becomes available.

Pony Friends Forever Convention was planned to be held June 12th-14th in San Antonio, Texas.

We have made the decision to move our event to November 6th-8th, 2020, at the same venue.

As we navigate the evolving impact Covid-19 in our community, our highest concern continues to be the health and well being of our attendees.

Tickets and vendor spaces will be honored for the rescheduled dates in November.

If you have hotel reservations with the Drury Plaza at Stone Oak, you will need to call to cancel existing reservation and re-book under our new event block rate. Block room rate is $110 a night, which will include complimentary breakfast, happy hour and dinner buffet. Reservations can made by calling 1-800-325-0720 and refer to the Group number of 2413713.
