I was lucky enough to be able to go to Kenya and Tanzania last summer. I highly recommend seeing the world while there is still a world left to see. Save all your pennies, make friends with people from foreign countries (so you can stay with them or just ask them for travel advice), and TREASURE YOUR PASSPORT. International travel isn’t available to everyone, so do not take the privilege of mobility lightly.
Went to Japan this past April and was lucky enough to hit the height of the cherry blossoms. Folks were going craycray. This batch is mostly from the Philosopher’s Path (哲学の道, Tetsugaku no michi) in Kyoto.
Went to India, Tanzania, and Kenya this year and now have no money to develop all my photos. This will be slow in coming but hang on there, I’ve got gold somewhere in all these negatives.
For the latest issue of my design collective’s zine I’ve been making a series of portraits of our members in various Bay Area locations. This stunning lady is our resident webmaster and fashion expert, her name is Nella. She and her sister also run a blog together.
Sam and I went scouting views of San Francisco from Oakland. First we approached from sea level, then we tried for higher ground. It was photo shoots on photo shoots on photo shoots all day.
This is for the next zine our design collective, Aver, is putting together.
Sigi is the newest member of the design collective I belong to. In addition to being a life coach and all around activist-artist, Sigi and I both play the banjo though not in the same style (I’m into clawhammer, Sigi picks). She and I took a walk on the pier where she used to fish with her father back when you could still somewhat safely eat the Bay Area sea life you caught.
This double exposure series is for an upcoming edition of Aver’s zine.
Mahmoud. The man, the legend, the model! (He's also my best friend/bandmate/roommate.) Say hello to Mahmoud single ladies, because he's a single lady too.
