Post War (An ATLA roleplaying group)
86 posts
It's five years after the great war; when Aang and his friends took down the father of fire, they left behind a land, scared and hurt by the aggression towards the innocent (land, creatures and people). Now, it's up to our heroes to help mend what is broken...

Luh Sheng || Open
Member of the Ikkaiten
Name: Luh Sheng
Age: Eighteen
Anime face claim used: Yoshida Haru
Bending abilities: Earthbender
Hails from: Earth Kingdom
Personality traits:
Strong, helpful, careful.
Callous, arrogant, harsh.
Living situation: Resides in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se with his parents, brother and sister.
Biography:
The first to display his earthbending talent, Luh adopted the nickname Kaolin as a result of his younger brother’s keen observation. Honing in on his power, the boy quickly became one of the toughest fighters the village had seen; next to his sister’s capabilities, the two seemed an unstoppable force. Practicing with the use of scrolls and with the aid of a teacher, Luh and Tilo quickly surpassed the capabilities of ordinary earthbending students and moved side by side to build hope and create solid structures of stone for the poor that resided in the remote, small village. Everything, however, changed as soon as the Fire Nation moved in, bringing homes to the ground and people to their knees; two young benders could not protect the lives of one-hundred, so bitterly the family fled in hopes of finding peace elsewhere.
Arriving at Ba Sing Se felt like a rugged punch to the abdomen for Luh. Everywhere he turned, poverty and stench hung rotten and heavy in the air, similar to the taste and essence of soured dairy. The startling number of refugees forced the boy to grow angry and cruel; why did the people of the Earth Kingdom have to suffer? Why did the Fire Nation sport their idiocy like brainless jocks and terrorize the land with their ideas and their aggression? He knew that there had to be a way to stop the firebenders from marring the Nations any more than they had.
When the war ended, Luh thought it a relief that the unlawful men and women would be locked away for their crimes against humanity. But unlike he theorized, there were no such repercussions. The criminals continued to walk free within their Nation; their crimes as soldiers and generals forgotten along with the past. In an attempt to set the fault back to right, Luh agreed to join Ashitaka in his mission to terrorize the Fire Nation. After one-hundred years of brutal violence and prejudice, wasn’t it time that they felt the heat?

Mao Sheng || Open
Member of the Ikkaiten
Name: Mao Sheng
Age: Eighteen
Anime face claim used: Yato
Bending abilities: Non-bender. Master of swords and body mechanics.
Hails from: Earth Kingdom
Personality traits:
Chivalrous, athletic, kind.
Temperamental, flighty, ditzy.
Living situation: Resides in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se with his parents, brother and sister.
Biography:
In comparison to his brother and sister, Mao always fell a few steps behind. The youngest of the three, Mao grew up pushing himself to the limits, training and studying in hopes of unleashing power that he didn’t possess; power that his two siblings had miraculously attained despite their non-bender ancestry. Forced to watch from the sidelines, Mao gazed spitefully, critiquing his brother and sister’s training, observing the way their teachers moved as fluid and stern as an angry river. Overtime, he developed respect for the art and applied it to his own practice of using his body as a weapon. Where his hands were once pathetic, ample and pampered, they grew calloused and hard. He toned his form, working hard into the night and waking up to rise with the sun. Despite his lack of bending, Mao excelled at fighting, surpassing the quick and efficient nature in which his siblings moved. Mao was speedy, silent, stealthy and always kept a knife strung to his waist.
After their village was raided, Mao’s family reluctantly moved to the stronghold, Ba Sing Se. Life there wasn’t as terrible as his brother and sister often complained about. Mao adapted quickly to life in the streets and made several friends throughout the scattered, poor neighborhoods. Like a mythical martyr, Mao took it upon himself to steal from shops in the Upper Ring and to bring food and money back to the poor. Though his parents disagreed with his criminal antics, Mao continued his raids; his motive, the disdain he harbored towards elitists and all their false chivalry.
One night, after watching his brother and sister take down two thuggish brutes in the fighting ring, Mao was approached by a foreign figure. The strange, young man asked for his political beliefs and feelings towards the Fire Nation and before the night was done, Mao and his siblings had been recruited as fighters and strategists for Ashitaka’s revolution. Eager to demonstrate what revenge really felt like, Mao, alongside his flesh and blood, have decided their fate; to restore balance and put the rightful criminals in their places.

Tilo Sheng || Open
Member of the Ikkaiten
Name: Tilo Sheng
Age: Eighteen
Anime face claim used: Iki Hiyori
Bending abilities: Earthbender
Hails from: Earth Kingdom
Personality traits:
Studious, determined, strong willed.
Follower, subservient, emotionless.
Living situation: Resides in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se with her parents and two brothers.
Biography:
In the beginning, Tilo was as innocent as a flower. Talented from a young age, she blossomed into an earthbender with the guidance of her mother and father. Practicing each morning toughened the youth, manipulating her priorities to focus on perfecting her gift. Studying carefully, Tilo honed in on earthbending strategy and skill, surpassing both of her brothers in intellect and physical endurance.
It wasn’t long after her fourteenth birthday that the Fire Nation brought soldiers into the village of Lou Ti to rid the town of its benders;  they posed as a threat to Ozai’s takeover. Quickly, the family escaped soon after the invasion and reluctantly, the Sheng’s sought refuge in the last standing Earth Kingdom stronghold, Ba Sing Se.
Though her parents begged each of their children to put aside their hatred and prejudice, Tilo and her brothers thought it weak to simply forgive such dastardly crimes. What did it say about their people? Weren’t earthbenders allegedly as strong, stubborn and unmoving as the element they controlled? In secrecy, the children practiced their talents, sneaking away from home to fight for money in poor communities.
It wasn’t long before Ashitaka caught whiff of the talent the Sheng triplets harbored and after meeting with the protégés, recruited them for his personal army. Now Ashitaka’s right hand, Tilo’s job is to recruit new members to aid in the fight against the Fire Nation. Though the war had been won, there were still criminals to annihilate.

Ashitaka Li || Open
Leader of the Ikkaiten
Name: Ashitaka Li
Age: Twenty
Anime face claim used: Shizuo Heiwajima
Bending abilities: Earthbender
Hails from: Earth Kingdom
Personality traits:
Determined, intelligent, passionate.
Vindictive, closed-minded, violent.
Living situation: Resident in the Upper Ring of Ba Sing Se.
Biography:
Since the end of the hundred year war, Ashitaka has made it his sole mission to bring the Fire Nation to it’s knees; to show that the Earth Kingdom is a strong, united force that won’t simply bend because the Avatar wills peace. Due to the violent nature in which firebenders infiltrated his village and murdered his parents, Ashitaka stands firm in his belief that soldiers who once served the Fire Lord should be placed behind bars for war crimes of the past.
When the war ended the boy believed justice would be served, but when Zuko failed to place each individual soldier in jail, he decided it was time for thecorrect revolution; it was time for his revolution. A twist in power that would do away with the wicked nature of the Fire Nation as a whole. So, under the veil of night he frequented bars throughout Ba Sing Se gathering members who believed in his righteous visions of the future, honing in on individuals who possessed unique and strong powers.
Wealthy and cunning, Ashitaka knows the ins and outs of the metropolis and has used his bending to create a hidden prison outside the outskirts of the city’s looming walls. An inventor, he creates and sells weapons for high prices in the black market to rake in power and money for his takeover.

We’re still looking for essential roles to be filled in our group. If you’re interested, come and check us out. We need and Iroh to own the Jasmine Dragon and to play an essential part in his niece, nephew and everybody else’s lives! Please, if you’re interested at all, send in an application. Hakoda, and On Ji are now recently available.
Also, we’re looking for people who are interested in playing an original character, or canon character! Send in your applications!
Any inquiries can be sent to the main blog which is linked at the bottom of this post. I will answer any and all questions that you might have.
So many long years at war has emotionally, spiritually and physically injured a large portion of the world’s population. It is now the sole mission of the Avatar to fix what is splintered and worn. Accompanied by his friends, Aang is setting forth to mend what he loves and to regain an era of peace and unity. However, such tasks are not as simple as they seem. There is a great amount of hurt and distrust. Wounds will heal, but with time. The Avatar and the Fire Lord must work together to keep justice throughout the land.
Uprisings in the Earth Kingdom have left newborn citizens, Fire Nation born, wounded and broken. Though the capital is supposed to be a city of ultimate peace and acceptance, those born with the blood of dragons, are sought prizes for gangs with personal vendettas.
In the Fire Nation, Fire Lord Zuko’s right to the throne is questioned. The idea of peace is spat on by those still following Ozai’s new-world-order.
Things seem almost impossible to fix when there is so much work to be done.
Will you do your part to keep the four nations united? Or will you add fuel to the bitterness that the world still harbors?

A message for current members of the group:
Reminder that low activity will result in being removed from the group.
This is something important that everyone needs to be reminded of. If you are unable to get on because of personal reasons let me know, otherwise you are able to be removed from the group.
You will first receive a warning, then removal if the problem persists.
I understand life gets busy, but please try to be active as much as possible. In order to keep this group running smoothly we need all characters to be active as much as they can.
