Usually I find that there is two sides to the predator fandom, and the devision between the two is such a massive contrast that they may aswell be different fandoms. And they tolotate eachother at most, lemme explain.

Like on one side you have enjoyers ranging from just really enjoying some of the films to being deep into the lore, books and comics. However this side just focuses on what is already established and they don't delve any deeper than that really.

A lot of this side of the fandom (from what I've observed and correct me if im wrong), tends to be streight cis men who like the "testosterone fulled action," of the franchise. Usually, they're also the type to claim that the yautja have a patriarchal society, and theyre usually the ones that make the bad gooner art of the females, but never dare to draw them without their helmets (cowards).

And then you have the girlie pop side, that is obsessed to the point of engaging in fanfiction, x reader/oc stuff, yautja OCs etc. The fan content here tends to be much more engaging and fun, and usually we make yautja society more matriarchal (as it should be) and the gooner art we do make tends to be tasteful and actual monster fucker material. Need i say any more about this side?

Whoever is the more true fandom is up for debate, as for who likes the franchise more? Also up for debate. However the start constant between these two sides is hilariously insane to the point that you can't put a scale on it.

A daredevil pilot with a need for speed, Riva is a member of the elite flying team that helps defend Kanalis when the city is in need. Although she has a stubborn attitude and tends to favor risky maneuvers simply to “look cool”, she will rush to the city’s aid in 10 seconds flat. She won’t say no to a good nap either…

Alyson seems to know everything about everyone in the city and considers each and every one of them to be her dearest friends. Although, her zany and unpredictable nature (as well as seemingly endless energy) can often be off putting to some. Still, she never lets what others think about her dampen her spirits. Her parents may own a restaurant, but Aly has found her calling to be baking delicious sweets to share with her friends.

Emily’s younger brother is the most renowned mechanic in all of Kanalis. Navin has fixed up more robots and other machines than he can count. No job has ever proved too tough for him! He lives with his mother, as well as several family owned robots, and is absolutely ecstatic about getting to spend more time with his older sister again.

Living in a small cottage just outside the city of Kanalis, Trellis spends time with many a stranger creature that inhabit the forests surrounding the foot of Demon’s Head Mountain. He is incredibly timid and doesn’t seem to get on well with humans or other elves. Being incredibly secretive since he mysteriously showed up one day has caused many rumors to be spread about him. Many inhabitants avoid him for this reason, not realizing that he is more scared of them than they are of him. In reality, he wouldn’t hurt a fly.

And magic makes it all complete!🌟💜

Emily had been living away from her family in Cielis at the city’s magic academy. She has a natural talent for powerful magic, however her mentor Vigo began to worry that her lack of connection to others might lead her magic to dark places. Thus she was sent back to Kanalis with one goal: learn to make friends to help better hone her skills. Along with her came her robot companion, Miskit, who sticks to her like glue and assists her in many simple tasks. She is following close to her assignment, if not, begrudgingly.

I think this crossover au pretty much speaks for itself. In my personal Amulet rewrite, the five kids give off a ton of mane six energy so… I decided to take a stab at actually making them the mane six. Here is the result!

Amulet 17th Anniversary

To show our appreciation for the beloved children’s series, Amulet, I’m organizing a fan collab where you submit a canon amulet character to be put in a compiled group photo!

What’s the idea?

The idea is that to have 17 artists to submit a fan work:

a.) The Amulet character is to be randomly assigned to the applicants.

b.) Ideally digital art in png/transparent, no background, so it can be easily edited. Traditional art may be allowed as long as you make sure to have a good scanner or photos with scanner quality.

c.) A character’s appearance doesn’t have to be fully canon accurate, thus can be drawn in how you interpret them, but has to be recognizable as that character, and is not depicted in explicit/nsfw/offensive caricatures.

d.) Dimensions should be at minimum 1500 px or 5 inches.

e.) Character must be drawn in full body and in an upright position.

Applicants will get their randomly assigned character on May 31st.

In the scenario that the application slots have been filled up, those who applied but didn’t get a slot will be assigned as pinch-hitter (with their consent).

Please do not DM me outside of emails after the application period is over.

What’s a pinch-hitter?

Pinch hitters are applicants who we have on a waiting list if a contributor were to drop out. You can opt in to be a pinch hitter during the application process (and are at liberty to refuse if we ask you to participate.)

When is the deadline?

Starting June 1, you will get approximately two months to create then submit your work. Final submissions are to be on July 28. Taking into consideration that real life can get unpredictable and busy, If someone is unable to meet the deadline for whatever reason, you can email me, and I’ll bring in one of the pinch-hitters.

A progress check-in will take place on July 1 - this is the final date for an applicant to drop out to allow pinch-hitters time of their own to create their submissions. Please do NOT opt out last minute when the deadline is within two week or less, as it’s unfair to the pinch-hitters. Proof of progress is to be sent via email.

June 1: Start of Process

July 1: Progress check. Final date an applicant can drop out

July 28: Final submissions

uh, I just realized I just made a tutorial about shading focused more on values rather than color 😅 erm here's the thing, when you're rendering something my motto is typically: values over color, clarity over detailing. That means if you set the image to black and white, you can easily understand it

I didn't really think too hard about it, since this was mostly practice for a comic/lineart style, but I feel like I'm getting closer to something good-ish looking. Although ofc the detail has to be toned way way down if I ever want to make a larger project. That's okay. I had fun.

The Ceryneian Hind

Eh, these are pretty old now, but Mother’s Day is as good a time as any to post them.

Here is Trellis’s mother in the form of a silver hind with the stars on her muzzle, the moon on her belly, and the sun in her “antlers”.

It was her stone that Trellis inherited, thus always having a deep connection with her despite not knowing it.
