I'm inclined to think Rayquaza or Charizard saved him, but the more I think about it, the more fun the brainwashing idea is. Perhaps a mix of the Laquium to mess with Friede's mind since the Kumuri Elderwoman compared him to Gibeon and Beheeyem's abilities to rewrite his memories. It would also put a cool spin on the original betrayal idea from the Teraleak. Plus, the psychological warfare against our heroes finally getting to reunite with Friede after thinking he was dead for a year, but he's their enemy now would be so spicy 👀
#i just caught up last night and i can't wrap head around it being 1 YEAR#like giving up on friede? hamber not knowing what happened till now? what is going on#my theory is that friede suffered major injuries in that fall#possibly got found by spinel but he decided Friede wasn't gonna be an asset and just settled for wiping all RVT memories like he did to lik#and got his charizard taken#maybe friede was nursed back/is still being nursed to health in the town like gibeon was and is putting pieces together again from scratch?#amethio and gang may have been together slightly longer before smth else happened and got separated#the working together to find ray theory would be so good to see but idk about them going at it themselves#or they're together trapped on that mt. but under explorer's watch#pkm#pkmh
