Getting real fucking tired of a relationship that constantly goes nowhere.
I’m fucking sick of constantly resigning myself to the fact that we’re not moving ahead while other couples seem to do it easily. Seeing other couples making plans and looking forward to the future together, reminding me that we’ve been together for almost four fucking years and I’m still constantly saying ‘maybe next year’ or ‘maybe next month’ to things that we have both been wanting for years. Or at least I thought we’ve both been wanting for years. I mean, it’s always me who avoids bringing up stuff like making travel plans together or moving in together because I know you’ll find some reason to say ‘not right now.’ It’s me who didn’t bother asking for a key to your new goddamn fucking apartment for months because I thought you’d find some reason not to give me one and I didn’t want to be disappointed (again). You always some reason not to move forward. It’s always ‘there’s not enough money’ or when there is enough money it’s suddenly that ‘there’s not enough time.’ I don’t think you realise that there’s never going to be a perfect time to do this shit together, there’s never a ‘perfect time’ for any couple. Couples move forward because they make plans and they both commit to MAKING THEM HAPPEN. And you’re never willing to commit to stuff, at least not with me. You’ll sign a year-long lease to a fucking apartment with a workmate you’ve known for a couple of months but you won’t even commit to saving up for a little holiday with your partner of 4 years? What kind of bullshit is that? I hate this. I fucking hate it. I love you and I don’t want to leave you, but what is the point of a relationship if it never progresses or evolves? If I make an ultimatum, I’m gonna be the bitchy girlfriend who forced you into doing stuff you didn’t want to do but if I don’t, it’s never going to happen because you seem to not even want it to happen. After this long you should want it to happen. We should be on the same fucking page by now. Ugh.

What the hell is wrong with this government. Who lets this happen?
Another week, another atrocity on Nauru. Our country can’t get more shameful at this point it’s just rock bottom… The government is twisting it so that they can accept more Syrian refugees at the expense of the poor people on Nauru and Manus who came here by boat to justify it. I’m so disappointed. I’m always disappointed…

People who choose birth control without reading the list of side effects or doing proper research and then get side effects and then are all like ‘OMG I got Implanon and ~I felt BLoAteD fOr LikE 3 MOnTHs~ before I realised you can get it out early. BIRTH CONTROL IS EVIL AND NO WOMAN SHOULD EVER TAKE IT, YOU WILL GET NO RESPECT FROM ME IF YOU TAKE BIRTH CONTROL.’  Pls, it was never a secret that hormonal birth control has side effects. you should have read the damn notes with care and respected the fact that hormones are volatile, don’t you just start slamming one of the greatest inventions of the twentieth century because you happened to get a side effect WHICH YOU WERE WARNED ABOUT.

Attacking the ABC for media bias is a distraction.
The Abbott Government will be remembered for two things: poor decisions, and attacking those who rightly criticise those decisions instead of defending their own actions.
The ABC, for starters, is not a left wing bastion of bias. Let’s stop even bothering to focus on that load of shit.
It’s also a tiring thing to repeatedly mention but this is what true media bias looks like and it is obviously in Abbott’s favour:
Tumblr media
Thank you Rupert Murdoch and your employees for showing us the bottom of the barrel for what counts as journalism in the country.
The issue the government has isn’t bias it’s an inability to defend itself against criticism. Even if the media was somehow biased against it the response should be two fold: blanket criticism of bias in all forms IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY IF NOT PRECEDED BY A DEFENCE OF ONE’S ACTIONS.
The government’s positions are often indefensible on several subjects like their treatment of Asylum Seekers which break international laws and is considered torture by the UN. They wish to create environmentally damaging coal mines that create little jobs, poison our planet, and fly in the face of a dying industry that the rest of the world looks down on us for not transitioning away from. The list goes on. Their response? “The media is biased.”
That’s an ad hominem attack and a logical fallacy. That doesn’t assert why you’re right. That is a distraction from the problem by trying to discredit the people making criticisms instead of the criticisms themselves. The ‘criticisms’ being accurately reporting what the government does and the people of Australia reacting negatively to that.
A big issue they have right now is leaks from unhappy Coalition party members. The ABC is being accused of trying to “topple” the government. How? By listening to the government complain about itself? How is that an issue with the ABC? If your own party is intent on revealing its own inner problems then the media outlet that reports that isn’t the issue, it is the issue of the party. If anything that demonstrates an efficient ABC doing its job: to report the news. It is listening to your government, Abbott… you just don’t like that there’s more than just you talking. You cannot have balance or accuracy if you’re the only one who gets to call the shots and your constant complaints about this show a level of immaturity not suited for office.
To attack the media for reporting on your issues reveals an important part of your character, Abbott - and that is that you find your issues shameful but have no clear way of fixing it. It acknowledges that if the truth is revealed it will damage your government. Instead of bettering your government and admitting mistakes you’d rather try and keep the public ignorant. If the public being educated about your government leads to you losing power then it is your responsibility to fix your government. Attacking the ABC is a distraction and a scapegoat from that responsibility.
The government is not mired down by an unfair media playing field it is mired down by its lack of accepting the responsibility that comes with government. Criticism is an inherent part of the job.
To quote the ever ironic pre-election Tony Abbott “If you want better coverage, be a better government.” Maybe one day he’ll listen to himself.
