One of my favorite human!AU thoughts is that the Clans are well-aware of how dangerous mushrooms can be and all but one Clan does not incorporate them into their diet.

ShadowClan knows the value of flexibility and adaptation. They make the most out of all and any resources available, and that includes the fungi that grows in abundance in their territory. Through years of trial and error, they have a good understanding of which mushrooms are safe to eat and which ones are poisonous. But even the dangerous ones are not without their worth-- poisonous mushrooms and berries have their own uses.

But the other Clans, not knowing much about fungi, are naturally horrified by ShadowClan’s dietary choice. Some wonder if there are any safe mushrooms at all. Perhaps ShadowClan’s use of poisons have made them immune...
