Where the Wild Things Are

The main four nightmares take inspiration from the book versions of the wild things, mostly in terms of proportions and poses. They're meant to evoke the kind of puppets William used to make for children's TV before Freddy's, with those glowing eyes from the movie. His Freddles are three little mechanized bears with drums, which they make a real racket with. Mike has nicknamed them Alvin, Simon, and Theodore because he doesn't like them.

Nightmare Balloon boy is a puppet of Mike himself when he was younger, accompanied by a little plush rabbit that was probably a prototype for Spring Bonnie before he was scaled up to be a suit, I don't know yet. Nightmare Mangle is based on those piles of clothes that look like figures at night, also a bit of inspiration from Rosco (Hello Puppets). Her many limbs are surplus puppet parts.

Nightmarrione is the only one who doesn't fit the theme, and that's because William didn't make this guy! It made itself. :)

COMMISSION INFO

Here's my up to date commission info, including some deals I have that are a little cheaper than the standard rate. See the reblog for samples! More details and terms of service under the cut. By commissioning me you acknowledge that you have read and understand these terms.

Standard pricing is per character. Eg: two chibi sketches as part of the same commission would be $80.

$15 doodles are a special rate for quick, fun, simple drawings. Eg: quick chibis, small critters. I can't accept detailed subjects for these.

I'm okay with mecha, vehicles, armour, gore and anthros, but can't accept NSFW at this time. This may change in the future.

I reserve the right to decline a commission, or cancel and refund at any time. Abuse will not be tolerated.

I can take part payments with a minimum of 20% up front. The final high resolution files will be provided when the full invoice is settled.

Major changes cannot be made after the sketch stage. Make sure you are clear with exactly what you want and check the sketch carefully.

A 50% surcharge applies for very detailed designs, eg: a large amount of lace, chains, buckles, etc. I can simplify the design for you if you would prefer.

The 50% surcharge also applies for added background elements. This does not include a full, detailed scenes. For these please ask for a custom illustration quote.

As the artist I retain full copyright of completed artworks and the right to display them on my portfolio and social media.

Commissioners may print their pieces for personal use. For resale or other purposes contact me for a commercial license.
