In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. Ok, so, personal headcanon: I think that Doomguy's love for bunnies and toys can be extrapolated to anything small, and V1 is small. He would find it funny to see a short robot being such a menace

Imagine you're Doom Guy - not Doom Slayer yet - Doom Guy, okay? You have been isekai'd by the Resurrector demon at the end of Doom 64 and sent to a parallel universe where you then proceed to rip and tear every demonic entity you see for literal thousands of years because of how they severely fucked up and ruined your life since the Mars incident and that resentment can never be fixed so you keep fighting until you're in this universe's time equivalent of the dark ages where you are found, captured, contained and forced to fight in a cult's battle arena and where you haven't had any human contact in unfathomable millenia the only words you can muster is how much you hate demons and the phrase Rip and Tear. They call your language ugly at first but then when you slaughter their fighters that they start repeating their version of your mantra Rip and Tear and you are a tool of amusement for them - then they put you on the field, then you are a weapon for them. They give you their powers and you are nothing but mass destruction to fight for them. Nothing else.

You're not human. You're just the thing demons fear. You're their Slayer.

I think that aspect is going to be seeing how this all plays out in the story, how Slayer will loose the yellow eyed state which was confirmed to be because of their powers given to him, and probably therefore direct control over him. This trailer made it a point to focus on his eyes, one shot with him with the powers and another where he's normal.

Very iterested to see where they go with this.
