biomemetic hazard

Technically it's not hazardous to you, but when your anatomical and cognitive patterns have been grafted onto an unstable mass of silvery biomemetic goo, that unstable mass of goo will think it's you, and then you'll (it'll) be sorry! For various reasons, research into biomemetics have been outlawed in the United Federation of Planets (despite its life-saving medical use cases). However, there's still the possibility that biomemetics could be used by other powers. So far there's only rumors, but it has been theorized that the Romulans, Cardassians, or perhaps even Ferengi might use an advanced form of biomemetics to produce disposable clones for various nefarious purposes. These rumors are unsubstantiated. Scary, though!
