it's actually really important to me that the room where we first meet adam and see him at his worst ends up being the room where we start to see him growing softer and kinder and gentler towards belle and the people around him, and even the room itself is warmer and less imposing

and instead of adam's solitary chair being in front of the fire, it's gone, leaving room for him and belle to sit together, and they do and they have their moment, and listen i love the library and the ballroom scene but god these moments of them in that little sitting room kill me because it's such a good way to show how adam and the castle itself is changing

We're creating fanworks celebrating all variations of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! Save the date and start drafting your creations!

Anyone can join, and all types of fandom works are welcome: fanfic, fanart, podfic, gifsets, edits, mood boards, memes, etc. Each work must contain at least one Disney BatB character (crossovers, OCs, and reader-inserts are allowed too!), be newly created for the event, and not use AI. See the full rules and FAQs.

There will be some new aspects to the event this year: a podfic exchange and beta reading exchange. More info on these in about a month. Follow this blog so you don’t miss future announcements!

Last year, our prompts were about plants, but this year, our theme is “Beasts of every kind,” with a different animal prompt for each day. The idea is not that you create something literally about that animal (though you could), but that you think of things metaphorically associated with it and use that as inspiration.

The examples in parentheses above are merely ideas. Feel free to use your own interpretations of the daily prompts! For example, bird > eggs > Gaston > fic about how/why Gaston got obsessed with eggs.

You are NOT expected to do something every day! Just 1 work for 1 day of your choosing is enough, though you are welcome to do more if you like. And you are NOT expected to create your fanwork on that day, just post it on that day.

Beauty and the Beast Week 2025

It's spring! Which means before you know it, it's summer, and that means it's almost time for the second annual Beauty and the Beast Week!

There were some folks last year who couldn't participate much or at all since the event was at the start of their school year in September. But moving it to the summer makes me worried we'll miss other people who are traveling or just generally enjoying not being online all the time. The event is open to everyone, so I'd like to accommodate as many people as possible.

So let's vote on a date! Even if you're not planning to participate as a creator, but plan to enjoy the fanworks as a spectator, please vote!

Note: I didn't include a "neither" option or suggestion for other dates, because these dates I provided are the ones that work for me, the host. I'm not opening it to other dates. If neither of them work for you, just pass on voting, and I'm sorry you won't be able to join us this year!

Enchanted Christmas as an AITA Post

My tenant (19F) has decided to organize a Christmas party on my property, even though I (20M) strictly forbid the celebration. My reasons would take a long time to get into, but let’s just say IT RUINED MY LIFE TEN YEARS AGO AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN THE SAME SINCE. Today, I discovered she’d left the grounds to pick out a Christmas tree (breaking another part of our landlord-tenant agreement), and nearly drowned in the process. I rescued her, brought her back to my property, and locked her in a dungeon to rot for breaking her word. My organist friend (51M) says I made the right call, but now I see she left a gift in my room, so I’m starting to have my doubts. AITA?
