i dunno if this is a common problem for people who suffer with executive dysfunction but. i am always so overwhelmed with Terror over the fact that i havent done The Things yet. it's debilitating, i end up either overworking or not working at all and just being overwhelmed 24/7 and feeling like my blood is boiling in my body. i haven't been able to sleep because i have to get super stoned and intentionally strain all my muscles into a painful state to stop the "boiling blood" feeling. any advice for this??

yes, ken and mason are in a relationship when ken exists instead of barbie! :3 they have a majorly different dynamic than barbie/mason, though - while barbie/mason have the dynamic of "we're both killers but dont know the other person is also a killer", ken/mason are totally aware of each other's crimes. ken is also very different from barbie in general since they ARE different people - he's reckless and overly-confident. he isn't particularly close to belle either, which majorly ups the chances of him getting caught. ken's like a "here for a good time, not a long time" kinda guy. ken and mason do still wanna kill each other though, they're just both aware of that fact and make a competition out of it.

Could you tell us more about Dove and Arata’s relationship? Why did they divorce?

sure thing!! let me copy and paste some stuff from a lore document i wrote with delta! DOVE ABOUT ARATA:

Dove was deeply in love with Arata throughout their relationship, finding him positively adorable and admiring his dedication to invention. When Arata modified himself beyond recognition and voiced complaints about Dove's flippant cruelty, she filed for a divorce. His death still caused her a great deal of pain, having harbored lingering feelings for him.

ARATA ABOUT DOVE:

Arata technically knew Dove for much longer than Dove knew Arata-- meeting originally at the [REDACTED] when Arata was merely an intern. When Dove turned his attention to Arata a handful of years later, Arata found himself initially dazzled and charmed by Dove’s affections and found himself falling deeply in love. However, this love was not enough to rid himself of his severe body dysmorphia, something he would attempt to (unsuccessfully) remedy over the next several decades by augmenting himself more and more and more. 

This eternal dissatisfaction and paranoia is what partially led to the breakdown in their relationship, along with Dove’s behavior herself also disturbing Arata so deeply he couldn’t feign affection anymore.

a gear is a robot in the context of Neo Theseus! this lore was conceived by @peachdelta since he's the giant rat who made most of the universe lol. the first fully-sapient gear was jian, created by arata. subsequent sapient gears are created using her as the blueprint. there are a few different types of gears -

AUTOGEAR: this is a gear that is not sapient. it does what it's programmed to do. these are NOT built using jian's operating system.

DATAGEAR: a datagear is a gear that does not have a physical body. it can be sapient or non-sapient, depending on the datagear. they often exist in the physical world as three-dimensional holograms, but can't be physically interacted with. they are, however, able to rent out bodyshells to interact with physical objects if needed. (after death, dove's AI consciousness is a datagear!)

Can you talk more about Cassiel’s family?

HAHA OH BOY. a lot of cassiel's family lore is under lock and key but i'll gladly share what i can! =)

you're already familiar with his father, Dove Atropos -

Dove Atropos, as a member of the Moirae, was in charge of Neo Theseus' military forces and the Atropos District. He was known for having a warm disposition, but being immovable in his decisions. In his youth, he was a general in the line of combat, where he lost half of his face. Dove was assassinated by an unknown assailant around a decade ago and was succeeded by her son, Cassiel. The public is unaware that after her death, Dove was recreated as a datagear AI who continues to reign over Neo Theseus using Cassiel as a figurehead.

the most present person in cassiel's upbringing was actually semaphore, a gear (robot) who was assigned by dove to essentially babysit him.

semaphore is the person who taught cassiel right from wrong and helped him develop a sense of self. he's cassiel's only close friend and is like an older brother figure to him. they both struggle with the feeling of not being a "person", but their relationship makes them both feel more human. yes their designs are inspired by ingo and emmet :^)

as for cassiel's other relatives... there's a certain duo who he saw very little of at any point during his life.

arata is dove's ex-husband - they divorced shortly before cassiel was born. since cassiel is a clone of dove & jian is a gear who was built by arata, they're essentially siblings despite their sparse interaction. jian is kind of a massive deal given that she is the model after which all subsequent gears were designed, so cassiel and jian are generally too occupied to communicate. arata himself died of health complications (theorized to be due to his insane amount of unregulated self modification) before dove's assassination took place. dove mourned arata, but cassiel never knew arata enough to have strong feelings on the matter.

all together, they were referred to as the atropos-kanan family. in the present day, it's a very, very broken family.

there are other members of the family, but those are a secret! cassiel himself doesn't even know them...

YAYY omg haze time v///v let's take this under the cut so i dont make a crazy-long post LOL. this is gonna get long since you asked about family and theres so many horses in this family--

if u need a refresher on unicorn lore theres a bunch of it in this post! and everything else ive posted with haze in it is tagged as #haze

firstly here's his lore overview from his toyhouse:

Born to a family of purebred unicorns, Haze is the oldest of ten siblings. He only ever wanted to be a good child, but instead of being blessed with a 'useful' gift, Haze has the displeasure of being immortal. The perceived value of a unicorn is based entirely on their gift's ability to help others, and his virtually useless ability and its unsightly consequences caused him to be the shame of his parents.

After a particular incident he refuses to elaborate on, he left his wealthy family behind to become a killer-for-hire in the wastelands of Wonderland. Typically, crossing paths with a unicorn is considered good luck, but not so much when it comes to Haze.

Haze has the intent to aggravate others, further isolating himself. Much of his poor behavior is tailored to prove his own lack of desirability to himself. Even so, he's a bit of a softie when it comes to those who remind him of his siblings, bringing out doting big brother tendencies.

Although he's annoying and brash, it's obvious from his mannerisms and habits that he comes from affluence. His table manners are impeccable and posture perfect. Due to scolding for having a minor speech impediment as a child, he slowly & carefully enunciates complicated words.

there's all the basics u already know so lets go DEEPER. horse family time.

BENEZET CASKET & ANTOINETTE CASKET

haze's mother and father. you get the gist of them from his lore overview - they suck and very much buy into the whole "unicorns need to be useful" narrative. antoinette has super strength while benezet has a healing touch. they usually just tell people haze died or went off to become affluent because they don't wanna talk about him.

SECOND-BORN: MAHOGANY CASKET

mahogany is a graceful and well-mannered woman with a striking work ethic. her ability is that of growing plants from seeds on command. she behaves in a motherly fashion to her siblings, making up for the lack of warmth from their actual mother. while she deeply respects her parents, she wouldn’t tell on her siblings for misbehaving. as haze's first younger sibling, she remembers him fondly, despite what he did. she often writes letters to him that remain unsent.

THIRD-BORN: HICKORY CASKET

a bit of an airhead, hickory isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed - but she’s masterful with the written language. her flowing cursive handwriting acts as hammerspace. whatever she writes a poem about can be summoned out of the page. she's more inclined to believe everything her parents say, so she feels wary about haze and a little betrayed by him, but still cares for his well-being.

FOURTH-BORN: FLAMBE CASKET

i originally designed flambe as a lovechild between haze and a friend's oc, but i liked them so much i reused the design for one of his siblings LOL. flambe has the ability to imbue food with healing properties, taking after its father - whom it completely hates. flambe is the most rebellious of the casket children and really wants to move out of the family manor, but is hesitant to leave the little ones behind. it sees haze as a victim of their parent's nonsense.

FIFTH-BORN: OLEANDER CASKET

ollie is a painter with a flair for the dramatic and melancholy. he likes to paint sad scenes, but his father doesn't approve of it, so his most frequent subject is flowers. he has the ability to enter the dreams of others. ollie's memory of haze is mostly haze encouraging his artistic passion, and he credits his oldest brother for helping him discover what makes him whole.

SIXTH-BORN: JUNIPER CASKET

despite being much younger than haze, the two of them were very close friends. juniper had a bit of an old soul, being much more interested in photography than playing games. he always staunchly disapproved of his parents' ideals and had dreamed of becoming a traveling photographer.

...it never happened, though. after juniper's coveted ability was discovered, he was given to the queen as a gift from the casket family. now he's a melancholic butler in the palace, hopelessly dreaming about the world outside.

he is terrified of haze.

THE TEENS: MAPLE & PLUM CASKET

these two aren't quite adults yet, and their memory of haze is very limited since he left when they were quite young. maple hasn't yet discovered her ability, and plum can summon familiars based on the alignment of the stars.

THE KIDS: ASH AND DEWDROP CASKET

little ones! they know haze exists, but they have never met him... they're not allowed to ask what happened, either.

all of the casket children are still living in their grand manor for various reasons, excluding haze (obviously) and juniper.

...there's also an RP i use haze and all his siblings in, but that's a different context than the universe i write on my own, of course! the rp is where wrong haze comes from - he's basically "what if haze never manifested his ability and stayed at the family manor".

As dictated in Dove's will, Cassiel underwent invasive head surgery to affix Dove's mask to his face. This allows a datagear AI recreation of Dove to take control of his body, maintaining control of Atropos even after death.
