So, I have a little challenge for the AFK Journey writers and artists.

Take any NPC character from the game.

It doesn't matter if they have a major role or have no significant one in the game's story at all.

And redesign the character in your liking and artstyle, giving them lore ( or adding more to the already existing one, etc- ) and whatnot else!

( For example : Me and my bff already did this with Passionate Girl's whole character. We gave her a name - Melissa the Exorcist. And it's on my page and in the afk melissa tag, if you want to check it out. )

Make that NPC have a character glow-up!

You have 100% freedom with this challenge, so go absolutely WILD with it!

There's no time limit for this challenge. You can spend as much time on it as you want. Days, weeks, years. You guys have all the time in the world for this. So don't feel rushed to finish your artworks and stories. ^^

Crossovers and AUs are allowed, of course! :3

The only rule I have for this is to NOT use AI. I know there might be some people, who'll argue with me about it, but guys, we have to support artists and writers, who actually gave so much effort into their works. And not the AI.

I hope this challenge will turn out to be fun for you, guys! And to hopefully get some artists and writers out of artblock, if they have it! ^^

I've been playing AFK Journey and I really love the designs of the Graveborns. So I tried designing one.

Not sure if I will do anything with this design however. I just wanna share because I am fairly content with it.

Doodle of my Magister Merlin “Vagabond”

I took creative liberties on his Sylvan marks

Random ramblings about him below

His name is Vagabond strictly because he always uses synonyms for Traveler when he changes identity (ex. Wanderer, Voyager, Pathfinder, etc.) and he was running out of synonyms to use

Technically agender but doesn’t mind any pronouns, he uses masc terms at the moment for simplicity but wouldn’t complain if fem or andro terms were used on him

He LOVES Graveborns and I mean LOVES them. Because of his amnesia he’s unfortunately forgotten about his fixation but his current form innately draws from Graveborn appearances !

His amnesia is somewhat tied to his narcolepsy, often forgetting things when he blanks out or falls asleep, every so often falling into a deep sleep and forgetting vast swaths of his memory similar to the start of the game.

Gave himself top surgery just because.

In my head cuz of the amnesia he doesn’t remember his interest in Graveborns but when he changes his appearance at the start of the story he unconsciously made himself look like one

His name is Vagabond cuz I couldn’t come up with an actual name and all the randomized options were “Wanderer” and “Pathfinder” so I just searched up a synonym to those

Perhaps I’ll rename him another day tho wwww

A main feature abt him is that he really likes fishing cuz I spend a concerning amount of time fishing and he REALLY likes Graveborns
