Do you have religious trauma?
Trauma? My dear fellow, I have never taken religion seriously enough for it to affect me at all! Perhaps my lack of belief has given me some trouble in my past – and it still does now, as some people insist that I am some sort of devil – but that is the only extent which my relationship with religion has ever reached. It is quite wonderful, to be so unbothered by something which takes such an absurd amount of space in our society.
Basil, on the other hand... Well, that is a different story.

Don't you ever care for your wife, Harry? I hear that she's found herself not just a musician but a homeless bum loitering in London's streets. Two men, Harry!
The family institution is sacred, surely a man like you would consider being a bit more mindful of his relations? Have some dignity, you understand that a man carries the face and name of his family, no?
(OOC: bro prolly dgaf 🥀)
You seem to care more for my wife's doings than I do. I must admit, she can find better than a homeless bum – but she has always had a certain preference for gentlemen of the streets, especially those who play an out-of-tune instrument of some sort to attract the attention of welldoers like her. Nonetheless, I am quite sure those men you saw with her are better equipped to satisfy her than I am. She deserves at least that, I suppose.
Though she really has the most horrendous taste in men...
As to the importance of family or whatever nonsense you are spewing, I suggest that you draw your own conclusions concerning my thoughts about it.

Does Lord Wotton sing?
I do on occasion, yes. Though I believe Basil would rather be deaf forever than hear another of my attempts at interpreting Carmen.

Dear Lord Harold
Greetings from the United States. How is it over there? Ive never been to England, so I am curious
That is not what I am called, but greetings to you all the same.
So, you are from the land of no return. They say it is the very epicentre of all that is loud, fast, and tragically earnest in modern civilisation. I wonder, how is it over there?
As for England, it is as damp and gray as it always was, and full of people who are getting quite bad at pretending not to be miserable. English society and its gossip are becoming dreadfully redundant, but I do think you should consider visiting sometime – if only to witness what true restraint looks like.

mann!!!! Stop taking advantage of naive pretty boys!!!!! Its very mean >:(
What is it, darling? Are you jealous? I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. It is quite the fashion these days for your generation to develop an obsession with an older man, hoping that he could give them the attention and influence they lacked in childhood. I find it rather charming, in a pathetic sort of way.
Tell me, would this be the result of what you people call "daddy issues"?

Happy pride month to my favorite problematic bisexual representation <33
While I do appreciate your intention, you should very well know that I do not partake in such performative activities. I am in no need of additional pride, wouldn't you agree?
I do hope you have sent a similar sentiment to Basil. As I have often said, he could stand to have a bit more pride – though when it comes to his art, I find he has more than enough of it already.
And speaking of so-called "problematic bisexual representation", I can only imagine the sort of utterly disgraceful things Dorian has been up to during this month. I must ask him for details.

Greetings, my darlings.
These days – as unusual as it may seem for someone of my disposition – I find myself bound by obligations of the most tiresome kind, from which not even my wit can rescue me. I shall spare you people the details, as it would bore me to death to recount them, but suffice it to say that reality has become unreasonably persistent – along with certain family members who have a habit of making simple things complicated, and complicated things unbearable.
Rest assured, your lovely – and less-than-lovely – messages shall receive their rightful answers once I can find the time to be interesting again; when one is caught in a dull business, they often begin to act accordingly. Soon, when this shall be over, I shall wish for nothing else than to set loose all the dramatics I am currently expected to keep at bay.
Will I succeed at keeping them at bay, though? I do hope not.

I'm sure you have a full wardrobe of clothes that you spent a fortune on and wore once before forgetting about them, but do you have a favourite clothing item that you own? And I'm sure your Dorian has many opinions on dress, does he consider you fashionable?
My dear, why should it matter how often I wear them? The wardrobe of a man who can afford luxury ought not to serve merely the drab purpose of utility; it must sustain illusion as well. I take a lot of pride in knowing that certain superficial members of so-called high society have never seen me in the same attire twice.
Mind you, I never forget my clothes; I simply wait for the world to become interesting enough for them.
I dislike overusing anything I hold too dear, yet inevitably find myself doing so. That velvet smoking jacket, for instance — the one everyone who’s ever shared a cigarette in my drawing room has seen me in — has survived four lovers, one exceedingly sharp-clawed cat, and a frankly obscene amount of smoke. If it had eyes and ears, I believe it would know me better than anyone else in the world.
As for Dorian, he sometimes claims that I am old-fashioned. But this comes from a boy who has more cravats than there are days in a month, and even that is an understatement. I shall take no criticism from him, as it is pointless to argue with the vain, and I am nearly as vain as him.

Unc status
Unc? My dear fellow, I am inclined to believe that you are inventing words specifically to confuse me. Or, more probably, I once again find myself unable to catch up with this generation's absurd – yet fascinating – slang.

would you rather do forty frontflips all in one go or forty backflips all in one go?
Both would certainly shatter my spine and sound equally ghastly. You shan't see me perform any sort of flip for as long as I remain within the living world, and certainly not after I depart from it!
If the hellish afterlife for which I am sure to be bound involves gymnastics, perhaps then I shall regret my countless years of sin.

Do you enjoy being kissed/kissing?
Ha! And why on earth would you wish to know that, I wonder?
Yes, I did enjoy it – once, back when I still made the delightful mistake of confusing affection with amusement. There is, I suppose, something rather divine about being kissed. It gives one the fleeting impression of being adored, and what is life, if not the pursuit of adoration? That, and good wine. Though if I were forced to choose between the two these days, I should unhesitatingly choose the wine; it is far more consistent, and infinitely less troublesome.
Adoration, you see, is terribly overvalued. It merelu makes one responsible for other people’s illusions. Kissing, though, is pleasant enough. But I have always believed that there are far more interesting, and decidedly less romantic, uses for one’s mouth."

Hi, Lord Henry! I understand that you're travelling rn? How are you finding it so far?
Hello, dear. Yes, I was indeed abroad a fortnight past, for an eventful little escape from the growing predictability of London. I took the opportunity to visit a few relics of my youth in Paris; acquaintances which had remained in my mind the same as when I last saw them, and whom I now could hardly recognise. Time had not been kind to them. Or perhaps they simply wore it badly.
But more fascinating still was my brief interlude in Brussels. I had meant to return for a while now, and I must say I was not disappointed. It is a city that harbours a kind of filth quite impossible to replicate anywhere else – a cultivated yet self-aware decadence. London has grown rather aseptic with time, save for the ever-present pollution, which I find is a dreadfully impersonal sort of filth.
Anyway, I did appreciate how many people can be found in cafés, drinking without shame at any time of the day. Do not get me started on English drinking culture.

How would you want to die?
What a vulgar question! I shall answer it nonetheless. As of late, I find I have neglected my simple duty of responding to the messages I have been sent, and it would be awfully ill-mannered of me to leave them to rot in my mailbox any longer, wouldn't it?
Now, about my death, there are two ideal scenarios: in one of them, I vanish – gracefully, of course – after an exquisite dinner, before I can even hear the moment my champagne glass shatters to the floor; in the other, it happens mid-sentence, while delivering a devastating aphorism. That way, I die with words on my tongue, yet someone would be left longing for the end of my thought.
I used to want a violent death when I was a young man, but I now have neither the rebellious spirit nor the energy to commit to it.

How's your wife?
I quite frankly haven't the faintest. I have seen her, yes – between the frequent visits she pays her "close friend" of the moment – but it goes without saying that she is quite skilled at forging tales from thin air and hair pins. I suppose she is well, though, as I sometimes notice lipstick on her collar, of a shade she would never have the boldness to wear.
Perhaps I should tell her about my correspondences with you people, I am sure she would be very amused.
And, of course, delighted to hear that you are asking how she is doing, a question I haven't bothered asking her in years.
