Priya looked up and blinked heavily.

Dead Tired (2260.98 - OPEN)
Priya had been awake for sixty-eight hours straight. Her usual shift replacements were both ill, as well as their own replacements, and thus, her workload had tripled over the past week. The chances of it happening were slim to none. That being said, she hadn't left her seat since last night. It was when her fingers began to slip over the keys in a slurred way and her eyelids started to blink out of unison that she wondered if maybe she needed to sleep, duty or not.

"This has been an interesting day, to understate. However, now that I have my wallet back, I really should return to the trading posts since that was my original objective." Priya slid the wallet into her pocket. She checked her watch. "Yes, if I wait much longer, I will lose the opportunity. Thank you so much for your help. I hope to see you around the station again, before we ship off."
"Hey, isn’t that it?" Andrea said, then whirled on the man. "Why the hell do you have my friends wallet?" she demanded, making the man flinch.

Priya grinned, much larger than she usually did. Moving forward, she caught the attention of a passing crewman.
"Would you alert security?" she asked him. He was young, and gave them all a wide eyed look, before nodding and hurrying back the way he came.
"Impressive tackle," Priya continued to Andrea. "How can I repay you for your help?" She tilted her wallet questioningly.

Priya stepped forward and lifted it off the ground. Flipping it open, she deftly glanced at each picture, and then snapped it shut, satisfied.
"Explain yourself," she said. The man's eyes were wide, and then, before either woman could react, he stood up and took off down the hall.

"Perhaps it would be best to look in the shopping district one more time? If it is not there, you can return to your duties, and I will contact my credit management." Priya felt a slosh of hopelessness and gestured for them to leave the conference room. As she stepped away from the sliding doors though, she collided with a stranger whose arms were full of bags.
"Oh, I am sorry!" she urged. "Allow me to-- hey!"
And there, lying amongst the spilled bags and the remnants of a lunch scattered on the floor, was her wallet.
"No problem," Andrea responded with a grin. "This station’s not going to come crashing out of the sky anytime soon, so I think I can take a break." The two left the mess hall and continued to the conference room. "So, you’re a Deltan, correct?" Andrea asked in an attempt to make conversation.

"That is a compelling story," Priya said with a smile. "We will be leaving within the week, but I'm glad to have made acquaintances while here." They continued to chat idly until the door to the conference room opened, and they could slide in past the flow of exiting people. Another cursory examination revealed-- once again-- no wallet. Priya cursed.
"I can think of no where else it can be," she said, feeling decidedly defeated. "I kept sentimental items in that wallet, and now it is gone-- probably forever. What are the chances of finding a 4x3 pocket of leather on a space station?" She pressed the palm of her hand to her forehead.

"I am," she agreed. "And you? Where do you hail from? How did you come to work on this station?" They reached the conference room after several minutes, but there was some meeting happening inside. "It is set to end in a few minutes; shall we wait?"
"I had heard that the ship had docked. I’ve got an old friend from the Academy aboard, named Alenis. Maybe you know her?" Andrea explained, then glanced up at the Deltan to see if she would respond.

"I planned to conserve my money for gift purchasing, and seeing as the food from the replicators is free to Starfleet officials, it seemed like the best idea at the time..."
Priya dragged her gaze over the table she had eaten breakfast at. No where on or underneath the surface was there a lone wallet. She took a moment to ask a few people sitting at the nearby tables, but none were any help.
"Well, this was an unneeded detour. Would you mind accompanying me to conference room 216 as well?" she asked Andrea. "I would appreciate the conversation."

Priya smiled warmly. "I do know Faren Alenis, yes. She is arguably my closest friend aboard the vessel, in fact. I believe humans say: 'small world'?"
"Well, when was the last time you saw it?" Andrea asked as the walked away from the vendor. "In my opinion, the best way to find something is to retrace your steps."

"Chief navigator," Priya replies instantly. Then she pauses. "Why do you ask?" She absentmindedly steers them in the direction of Mess hall B.

"I thought it was in my pocket just now... But I suppose the last time I saw it with my eyes was when I picked it up this morning to take it with me, before leaving my lodgings. It definitely made into my pocket. After that is anyone's guess." Priya steers them a few feet away, "So far today, I have been to breakfast in Mess hall B, sat in on a conference in room 216, and I have been here in the trading district since."
Andrea bit her lip thoughtfully. “Can’t say I have, darlin’,” she replied. “Would you like me to help you look?”

Priya stayed silent for a moment, before sending the Andorian vendor a solid look, and leaving the post.
"If it is not an imposition, then yes, help would be much appreciated," she said.
The hub of Star Base 3 swirled around Priya. She navigated the trading posts that surrounded her curiously. Not knowing when she would next have the opportunity to see her family, it seemed as good a time as any to pick up holiday gifts for them. Approaching one post that advertised audmium…

Priya stopped her desperate searching. She turned to see a stranger who was standing nearby.
"I have misplaced my wallet, unfortunately," she said, feeling a mix between lost and frustrated. "It contained pictures, credit cards, and other valuables. You haven't seen one, perhaps? Black, synth-leather, with a Deltan Embassy insignia?"

Broke - [2260.93 (OPEN)]
The hub of Star Base 3 swirled around Priya. She navigated the trading posts that surrounded her curiously. Not knowing when she would next have the opportunity to see her family, it seemed as good a time as any to pick up holiday gifts for them. Approaching one post that advertised audmium jewelry of every shape and size, Priya struck up a conversation with the vendor and settled on a price for a pair of large hoop earrings. But as she was reaching for her wallet, her hand brushed nothing. She scanned the booth for the missing synth-leather pouch, patting down her sides and hoping to feel the shape of it. "Have you seen my wallet?" she demanded. The Andorian behind the counter twitched an antennae and shook his head. Priya closed her eyes tightly. She sighed. "Shit."
