I don't think there's very much I can say about this topic. At least, nothing a ton of people haven't mentioned already. But I do want to go over a couple of things that really sit ill with me.

The first thing I think I should address is that it's not any of our places as fans to try to ask for more knowledge than we have. This should go without saying, but people on the internet sometimes aren't exactly the most understanding of personal space in this context.

I also don't think this has anything to do with the amount of criticism the new singles have garnered. At least, not directly. While it's possible that it really didn't help Awsten's perspective on the situation at all, I don't think it was as big of a factor in this decision as some people have been making it out to be.

Also want to address the fact that people have been running their yappers and rejoicing about the cancellation. People have a very difficult time understanding that art is not made for them. It is made for the artist and their vision / self expression. That being said, it's clear that this was not an easy decision for Awsten to make. Anyone who's ever created anything long-term can probably relate even a little bit. IP was not made for you. IP2 was not made for you. Whether you're celebrating that it was cancelled or attacking Awsten to release the files anyways, this art is not for you and it does not belong for you, you just happen to enjoy it. It's alright to be upset about the cancellation, I think most fans are. The era is over without a lot of closure and it's a weird time. That does not give you permission to attack anyone.

Closing thoughts: We're getting new music, let's rejoice about that!!!

Hi tumblr, here's me. My name's Austin and I'm a stupid emo kid. And I'm airing everything out for the world to see.

I didn't learn how to ride a bike until i was like ten or eleven and I can say that with fucking confidence. Because I put up a damn FIGHT anytime my dad would try to force me onto one of those two wheeled fuckers.

In addition to my wheeled transportation grievances, I have also

Never stood up straight on a skateboard

Got an electric scooter for christmas one year, got on it once, had a panic attack and never used it again

Got on roller skates once, stood up, had a panic attack and never tried again

And somehow even through all this, my stupid brain got the idea at 2am last friday or so that i would look so cunty on roller skates. Like, this was something i was irreparably set on doing. And maybe even if I do have another panic attack, maybe i'll at least be satiated knowing I really can't do it.

Anyway. I'm hoping this time things go well. And given they do, I'll be making a youtube video about it and another (probably very extensive) tumblr post with some thorough yaps about the whole ordeal.

I'm going into this with a lot more maturity and emotional resilience than I think I could have even possibly considered last time I put on a pair of roller skates, so hopefully I can avoid freaking out too bad, or at least get over it enough to enjoy myself even if I do. Updates tomorrow (it'll go great, i'm manifesting)
