Design: The Little Changes That Impact Greatly

I'm here today to share the story of my living room make-over . Although I didn't have much done in the space, but the difference was drastic from what it looked like before. I took out the wood blinds I had on the windows before and painted the dark tan colour walls with a cream color. My goal was to make the room feels bigger, lighter and airier.

I decided to use my better judgment and order the curtains from a custom shop after I failed with my DIY curtain project. I bought beautiful grey, custom-made curtains which a classy brown, chocolate-like details on their lower part and with some interesting pattern in a neutral colour that acted as a transition between the two colours. Opting for custom made curtains gave me the benefits of being able to choose the material, colour, pattern and style to my own requirements. I was also able to add in extra features as well, like extra lining and headings for a unique look.

One thing that I learned from my curtains is that in order for them to lay properly, you have kind to 'train' them. This is a trick that I learned from the internet. In order to 'train' them, you need to put a ribbon on every 1/3 section of the curtains and 'wrapped' them carefully. Let it sit this way for about 10 days.

If you too are considering curtains for your windows, I highly recommend you to order custom-made instead of ready-available curtains. Although their price might be a bit higher, the benefits they provide make them sure a worth investment.
