In the show, spikes behaviour towards Buffy is seen as irrational and wrong, all the small things he does, when he's just a man in love. They expect someone without a soul to treat people perfectly, when he's already many times better than any other demon around. And her behaviour certainly doesn't help. By the end of S5, he is respectful, but she comes to him for everything, invites him to everything. At the start of S6, the only time that Buffy, someone he holds so dear, interacts with him, it's for her own personal gain rather than to see him- and it's understandable that he lashes out throughout the entire series, if he sees all of Buffy's actions as a reflection of those that are prevalent at the start of s6.

now that posted my last post on spike and his mother

I'm now sitting with the realisation that both spike and buffy have been almost raped by someone they love and care for...

i never rlly thought about it hard... but spike is a mama boy

and i love the cliche bad boys being attached to their mothers

now im thinking in the sense of his relationship with his mum and his with dru and buffy

dru is sick (crazy asf, go girl✨️) and she has her good and bad days. spike always there for her, taking care of her and loved her. it's similar to how willaim promised to his mom that he will always look after her. he loved her and cared for her through her illness.

with buffy, i feel like there was a lot of similarities and its what drew him to her. her strength, her kindness are a few examples

like his mother, he has seen her worse and best. and still stood by their side, caring and loving them the best he could

like his mother, he's powerless. vulnerable and open. sure he closed himself off emotionally for centuries but there are times when he drops his walls

like his mother, he became her support and protector. yes, he knows buffy can take care of herself and had his ass handed by her multiple times. but he compromises in the way that he is her tool. if she needs him out in the field, fighting with her, he's there. if she needs him protecting dawn, he's there. whatever she needs, he's there and at times she doesnt even have to ask. he will always have her back and encourage her on

it got me thinking on the whole near rape scene with him and buffy. its sort of reminds me how his mother did the same thing to him when he sired her cuz she got confused with his feelings towards her. Panic and scared, he killed her. not believing this was his mother.

now i dont know what went through his head at the time but it definitely was a lot lol. maybe that whole scene brought him back. that plus everything must've been overwhelming. i mean that scene was just oof

i love how i could understand and im the only one from my family that could understand why my older brother hates certain food
