Whale Song

My child is born, but she does not live. She does not breathe. She does not glide through the water at my side.

I have no arms to carry her, so I will carry her on my back. I will carry her until she gasps for air and we will dive deep.

We will chase salmon and seal. We will swim side by side. We will leap into the air together, my child and I. Our song will be heard in the sound.
