Invest resources into what makes you proud to be nonbinary.
It's not selfish or frivolous to spend time, money, etc. on such things. It's often necessary for your health and survival in a society that is continually trying to erase you.
Take care of yourself, and you may even help other nonbinary people in the process.

You can embrace applicable microlabels or just stick with a few classics.
The point is to have choices that work for you.

I believe that the nonbinary label is meant to work for you, not the other way around. Of course, others may have the opposite stance.
If someone says that you shouldn't use the word "nonbinary" in the way that you do for yourself, you don't have to agree with them. Allow space for differences, while also taking care of yourself.
You know yourself better than anyone else could.

The process of transitioning can be difficult and imperfect. It's often painful, complicated, and far from a linear process. For nonbinary people it's even harder to find anything resembling an end point.
It's much the same as any kind of personal growth. There's pain and unexpected turns in the journey, but it's an experience that ultimately adds to your character.
Embrace the wilderness of it.

It's alright to be frustrated with the limited spaces that nonbinary people have carved out for ourselves in society.
It's important to be happy with what you have. However, frustration is also a sign that more work needs to be done.
Listen to that anger. Use it to push at the edges of what's "allowed" for you and make room for those after you.

You've taken on countless challenges and succeeded. Danger upon danger has been thrust on you by bigots and you overcame them.

You don't have to explain your experience of being a nonbinary person.
Sometimes cis women and cis men will discuss what their gender means to them, but not always and not to everyone.
Some things are so complex and intimate that only those closest to you get to be part of the discussion.

You're nonbinary whether or not you transition.
You're still nonbinary if you start taking different hormones or have surgery to feel more at home in your skin. You're still nonbinary if your body is already how you need it to be.
You are nonbinary and so are your choices.
