Phase 5

My architectures are developed from the idea of my city critter which was the combination of modern and traditional architectures in one area. Charoenkrung was a commercial area of Bangkok, this district still remain some part of the district as the same in term of architecture and transportation by boat. It seems like as the time flies but the architectures still the same, even the program inside are changed. The idea that I want to propose is the architecture to be more than just an architecture. It could be a place to tell many stories for example experiences, memories, history or create new perspective to the visitors.

I decide to design a balcony because it is a place that many important events happen. For me, I fall in love with Charoenkrung because I look outside my balcony and see the city, people and watch the sunset. Some other important events are King Rama9 at the palace’s balcony, Romeo and Juliet scene at the balcony. Therefore I can see that the small space can create so many important situation and design my own balcony with my perception of Charoenkrung.

MUMBAI, INDIA - Global Diamond Exchange Center

India has the least diamond mine production but still India is the country import largest amount of diamonds. One existing diamond center is called Bharat Diamond Bourse in Mumbai. Also, Mumbai is a financial hub city, this does not only support business purposes about financial but could also bring interest in diamond import/export to be an attraction of the city as well. 

BANDRA

Bandra is a part of Mumbai, it is one of the tourist destination places because there are many tourist spots such as community malls, museums and etc. Moreover, according to the new MRT construction line make places connect to one another easier. After construction is done, the site will be much each to reach and it is in the center of the city.

This drawing shows the surrounding facilities of the site and the accessibility of public transportations.

The section of the architecture is showing that the design minds about mangroves as the ground floor will provide floors that have transparent glass. This would allow people who visit the building for business purposes or exhibition to consider more about the importance of mangroves.

This is an atmospheric view of the new diamond center will be located.

New modern fresh market (Talat Plu)

Talat Plu is a community of Thai-Chinese and this area  is a spacious in grown and sold betel in the past. Talat Phlu is the bustling district, until have the parlance. It's considered to be another Bangkok Chinatown besides Yaowarat.  Talat Phlu is well known as a neighborhood with restaurants and many street foods such as beef noodles, Khanom Beaung and many more.

However, this market is located under a crossing bridge called Rachadaphisek road. The market has 2 areas which one is a morning fresh market and another area is a street food area. These are in the same place by sharing space or us the area in front of their shophouses. 

These are famous restaurants that are all at Talat Plu market but not all people know about them.

Using banana leaf wrapping food is a Thai tradition way that people in this area still use. Therefore it is inspired me to bring this as an identity of the market that I would like to re-design as I develop the shape of this folding banana leaf into a geometry shape and use it as tiles of the roof.

Most street stalls are all along the footpath and continue along under the bridge area. This market is very dark, no wind circulation, no parking area and these become the factors that I bring to re-design the space to be more attractive to tourist or people who live in the surrounding area. Also would like make the market to connect with the shophouses around.

As I can see the potential to develop this place to make it becomes a better place because  of many accessible transportation, center of the district, in the commercial area, cultural and tradition, all of these are worth to make to architectural look more lively like people in that area.

Phase 4- Make overlook buildings become ICONIC

Using colors of the wall to express inhabitants’ emotion in each space and see how the colors also convincing the inhabitant in term of actions (activities). Also the different activities and period of time in a shop-house(example) become a consideration of providing and controlling of light. Because light is used for color fusing of the wall therefore using daylight from the sun during the day and using neon light at night time.

As the previous phase I’d studied about the impression of a color and the message it conveys is of high importance in creating the psychological mood ambiance that supports the function of the space. 

Controlling daylight by using the suitable facade design

Using of the same space but difference period of time could provide difference function of the building.

The first floor is for commercial and second floor is for living, which are both given difference propose of using space. During the day the first floor is a cafe by using color to attract people to notice the shop but when at night the cafe will become a bar and using the neon light to the building become noticeable. Colors and light are used for highlight and show the identity of the building.

Orange wall is showing the hungriness therefore it is used as kitchen’s wall.

Yellow and green walls are showing the freshness and refreshing therefore it is used as activity room’s wall.

Red and yellow walls are showing active and hurry  therefore it is used as dressing room’s wall.

Blue and light green walls are convincing to focus and be fresh therefore it is used as living room’s wall.

Pale purple and light green walls are convincing to relaxation therefore it is used as bedroom’s wall.

Purple and blue walls are convincing of reminding therefore it is used as a frame hall’s wall, which is full of photos of good memory.

The reason that I decide to use different colors in each room is because i would like the wall be more the wall by being able to create new feeling from fusing of the 2 colors.
