Spoilers for nocturne but I wonder if the reason olrox doesn’t like bathory is for that reason. She is the god sekmet and he is at least a patron to a different great power!

However, her desire to eat the son is similar to an Egyptian serpent demon, apep. Maybe the true state of bathory is this serpent, so the follower of a serpent creation god (olrox) would take offense at a chaos demon’s impersonation of something more powerful

You know how in Castlevania: Nocturne Olrox get's really fucking annoyed everytime someone calls him "a dragon"? As I see it, is because he gains his powers from Quetzalcoatl, you know, the god who was a feathered serpent

It's up for debate, but dragons are not really a mesoamerican concept. To say that Olrox is a dragon is to make his culture invisible and not acknowledge his aztec origins

i really wanna start working on a Steven universe fancomic, but i need some help. My AU will be called Steven Universe: Our Time

it will be a long, angsty and heartbreaking experience as you watch Steven and Connie struggle throughout the canon series, and as it flashes back and forth between their lives in the past, present and future.

The present time will take place after steven has moved away, and it’s about 2 years after Steven Universe Future. (making them adults, and both driving, and having their own teenage experiences ,this is gonna feel like a drama so buckle up.)

this au/fancomic is going to be all the laughs, tears and yes, gem action you need and miss, except now we’re all older fans, and we’ve been through older people problems, and so have the gems, and steven. watch how they’ve grown, changed, and have hurt. (there will be happy parts don’t worry)

I honestly expected the ending to be rider and horse being able to “fuse” with eachother and be able to go in and out of that state

I’d love to add a little something! Based on this, the thrones would be very interesting subject. They are commonly depicted together with a cherubim, so what if the throne has his two halos, one going around the way he depicted, much bigger than the thrones actual body and the cherubim sitting in it, and the cherubim’s is merged with that going around like the meridian of a globe. It would frame his body like this:

And the throne’s body would be fused behind the cherub by the halos as the throne holds onto the back of the cherub with his legs absantly floating behind!

Continuing off from this post about angel halos actually being horns:

Low ranking angels (newly born angels) always have one halo. So long as the horns are conjoined, it’s a halo.

Angels can grow multiple horns to be conjoined into multiple halos. Some halos are so large that the Thrones use them as floating seats.

Angel feathers aren’t actual feathers, but a flaking protective layer grown from the horns. Humans mistake the large angel horns grown so far back to be wings.

Lastly, the larger the horns and more numerous the halos, the less of an individual an angel becomes. High ranking angels like Seraphim are directly controlled by God, and their bodies are no more than hanging husks.

This last part is a little morbid which is why I didn’t wanna draw it, but angels can join their halos with each other to create a “Hierarchy” or a “Choir”.

Although morbid, angels can fuse their halos with each other. This formation has many names, but the most popular are called a “Hierarchy”, “Order”, “Choir”, “Mass”, or a “Chain” of angels. 

The largest group of conjoined angels is simply called “Heaven”.

I would argue that either, the room is not garnets, but Ruby’s; or it’s garnets and the room can exist as long as the fusion can be made. Like to activate sardonyx’s room, pearl sapphire and ruby would have to be alive.

“It exists as long as I exist” - the Mystery of the Temple Basement

Ever since “Know Your Fusion” aired, theories began to float around about Garnet’s room. That is, that it might not actually be her room.

Read on for my explanation for why I think the basement room IS Garnet’s room and why I think some people appear to have overgeneralized based on Sardonyx’s statements.

Reasons that have been given for why the basement is NOT Garnet’s room:

Some have pointed out that within the entire show, no one ever specifically refers to the basement as “Garnet’s Room.” That is true. But it’s also regularly called “The Burning Room” by fans and no one ever calls it that in the show either. (I’ve seen at least one Crewniverse reference sheet call it the “Bubble Room.”) Amethyst calls it “The Basement” in “Secret Team,” and notably says “only Garnet is allowed in there” rather than calling it Garnet’s room. This is curious, but it doesn’t necessarily mean much of anything. Garnet most likely uses it for business (storing Gems and burning stuff), so it’s understandable that they’d refer to it more often by its function since it has one.

But the major reason people think the basement is not Garnet’s room is that rooms disappear when Fusions unfuse, and we have seen (in “Made of Honor”) that the room with all the bubbles in it is intact while Steven and Bismuth are inside and Ruby and Sapphire are out on the beach.

Not to mention how dangerous it would be if the basement’s many protective bubbles were jostled around and trapped in a disappearing room every time Garnet unfused. We can be sure that doesn’t happen. Therefore, some have said hey, maybe the basement room is similar to the Crystal Heart area of the Temple–it doesn’t really belong to anyone, and it isn’t affected by the integrity of any Fusion.

So if this room DOESN’T cease to exist when Garnet unfuses, this also gave rise to questions like “Then where IS Garnet’s room? What would it look like?” and “Where are the rooms of Sapphire and Ruby?”

But I don’t think any of these logical paths are necessary. I think what we have here is a basic misunderstanding (based on an assumption) about how the Temple works.

Reasons why Garnet’s room does seem to be her room:

ONE: The obvious. Her Gems–specifically hers–open its door. And we do see that her door has a pattern that fits her–two lines meeting and forming one line–and that it clearly opens to the bubble room.

We do not ever see another Gem besides Garnet get into the basement through this door unlocking it with their Gemstone. (Obviously we’ve seen them get in other ways inside the Temple, but not through the door.)

TWO: We don’t ever see another room for her. There seems to be no narrative reason why they would hide Garnet’s REAL room from us and just never show it, ever. 

THREE: The assumption that her being a Fusion means her room disappears when she unfuses only comes from one episode: “Know Your Fusion.” But remember what Sardonyx says in that scene.

Smoky Quartz: You have a room in the Temple??

Sardonyx: It exists as long as I exist. And here I am!

Note that Sardonyx does NOT say this is how all Fusions’ rooms work. She only said it about HER room. She’s saying this to another Fusion, after all–and Smoky seems baffled at the idea. They clearly didn’t know they suddenly had a room in the Temple if they did. And what does Sardonyx do in her room?

She hosts a fake talk show, with an audience she creates just for the purpose of applauding for her and watching her, because that’s exactly who Sardonyx is. Doesn’t having a room in the Temple that only exists when she exists seem like a very Sardonyx thing to do?

FOUR: The Temple is known to be malleable, based on WILL. Gems don’t even have to be fused to make combo rooms! We see Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl make a test dungeon for Steven in “The Test” because they just … wanted to … and it was apparently not a particularly difficult task. Furthermore, we see them open the door–each activating her own Gemstone on the door. They didn’t have to be fused as Alexandrite to open it, nor did the room’s existence depend on anything specific that we’re shown.

CONCLUSION: There’s nothing in the characters’ dialogue, the glimpses into the interior that we’ve had, or the stated logic of the Temple that suggests it’s constantly remodeling itself without conscious input and consent from the Gems. It’s not depicted or described as an independently functioning, logic-dependent holodeck. I don’t believe a secret, unseen, unmentioned automatic room for Garnet exists, and I don’t believe rooms for Ruby and Sapphire suddenly appear automatically when Garnet unfuses.

That said, there’s no reason Garnet couldn’t make an additional room that would respond to her Gems, and there’s no reason Sapphire and Ruby couldn’t create their own rooms if they decided they needed them for some reason. Those rooms in fact might already be part of their lives–in the past and present. But just because they COULD exist doesn’t mean the basement doesn’t functionally exist as Garnet’s room–at least as much as Pearl’s room and Amethyst’s room are accessed by and belong to Pearl and Amethyst, respectively.

But, disclaimer: I don’t know of any confirmation from the Crew or in any of the supplementary books or podcasts that the basement definitively is Garnet’s room. This is just my analysis based on Sardonyx’s very specific language that I don’t think needs to be generalized and the examples we have of a) Garnet opening the basement with her Gemstones as keys just like everyone else’s personal room, and b) rooms being demonstrably subject to fluctuations in existence based on … whatever the heck the Gems want.

While I do love Steven universe, adventure time will always have a very special place in my heart

They’ll Never Be Another Cartoon Like... Adventure Time

With the end of Adventure Time: “Distant Lands” and waiting for the next mini-series, “Fiona and Cake”, it has comes to an realization that they’ll never be another cartoon series like Adventure Time. While many people will say that there already is like Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, and other shows that came out in the 2010s, but there’s something about Adventure Time hits differently that many of those shows don’t.  

1) Growing Up 

Adventure Time has been going since 2010 and could’ve easily become been like Simpsons and Spongebob for overstaying their welcome and gotten stale, but instead the show decided to grow, taken risk and having their characters to develop as the series went on and looking at Adventure Time Distant Lands, specifally “Obsidian” and “Together Again”, it’s clear to me it has. 

Look at Finn Merten, he started out as immature adventurous boy

But in later seasons, he went through a lot such as 

Heartbreak 

Father issues 

Losing his arm 

Seeing himself die in front of him 

In those experience, it allowed him to mature to be more passive than aggresive

Then in “Obsidan”, He’s more calm and chill 

But what truly made me realize this is in “Together Again”, they showed Finn and Jake, who are the protagonists of Adventure Time, dead and there’s no ressurection, they stayed dead. It’s something that you don’t see in everday cartoon, most cartoons will show the protagonist older and what they’ve been doing the future, but for Adventure Time, they died.  

It just shows that Adventure Time can grow, even when characters finally pass on. 

2) The Land of Ooo

 What the show truly sells is it out lore and how much it offers. While it takes place post apocalyptic Earth, the worldbuilding is expansive and the lore can’t even compare to Avatar: The Last Airbender, but more to One Piece. There so much that the show has explored such as 

The society of humans 

Elemental beings 

The Crown 

MOs 

Kindgoms 

Mother Gum

Vamps 

Wizard City

and so much more

What I truly love about the series that there’s still so much to explore, espeically finding out there’s more than the Land of Ooo such as planets, and the multiverse.  

3) The Many Characters of Ooo

There are so many colourful characters in the show that are quite memorable, even characters that appeared in one episode. They are even given more depth and development that I didn’t expect to see.

Cookie wanted to be a princess 

Air helping BMO finding her way home 

The unexpected friendship between a Snow Golem and a Fire Wolf Pup 

Dirt Beer Guy (Root Beer Guy)  and Cherry Cream Soda never dated before they married, so they decided to actually date and see what an actual  relationship is

and there’s Cinnemon Bun that got a massive amount of development that actually from a goof in the Candy Kingdom to a royal guard for the Fire Kingdom

And there’s the character relationships that dear glob it’s amazing. Seeing  characters that you don’t normally see interacting is amazing like 

Ice King and Marceline, two secondary characters and creating an entire backstory that’s tragic tale.

It was clever how the writers did by showing a glimpse to their past in season 3 such as 

“Holly Jolly Secrets” 

and “Memory of a Memory”

Having a father and daughter relationship. It was very heartwarming to Simon has gain his sanity and visits Marceline and her bubblegum girlfriend from time to time. 

4) Philosphical Messages 

While there are many cartoon shows have philosphical moments like Steven Unvierse and The Owl House, Adventure Time has gone a bit deeper, making me believe that this show was than just a kid/teen show, espeically getting older. 

BMO wonders if  he grows up, will he remain the same or different. Will it change his body or change his soul. 

Finn questions if being borin is the greatest act of creation, what you supposed to do next and what’s the point making an effort if we “blow up”. 

Marceline thinks that there’s no bad people. Good people can sometimes do bad stuff and that’s bad, but if you do it once, it’s a mistake and that’s not bad

Adventure Time can really make you wonder about life. 

In conclusion, Adventure Time is one of those shows that can’t be mimic for it’s heavy lore, growth in the show and characters, deep messages, and the many colourful cast of characters. Adventure Time could’ve overstayed it’s welcome and can get boring like Simpsons and Spongebob, but it mange to stay fresh with ideas and take risk and that what makes Adventure Time enjoyable.

Some head cannon thoughts for Pixar’s Luca that I found or thought of myself gathered together!

- uncle ugo is possibly trans. He’s modeled after an angler fish, and only the females look that way

- Luca’s dad took his wife’s last name. If you look on wiki, cast lists, and character lists; Luca’s maternal grandma is titled grandma paguro. Case closed

- since the movie can be a lgbt metaphor, grandmas lines about going to the surface imply that she’s had experience with other females. Bi grandma for the win!

- Bruno is most likely the name of Alberto’s dad, who always reminded him he wasn’t good enough.

- since the last names of the sea monsters are Italian, but they don’t speak Italian, this means they saw people with those names and used them for the name of their families.

-grandma paguro is probably friends with the older sea monster women, but she chose to stay in the ocean to raise her daughter. She still goes up on weekends though.

- one day, Luca and Alberto are going to loose their minds over jet-skiis

- While Luca and Alberto love Vespas, they hate cars when they become more popular in their area.

- Luca always trails off on a tangent about something he learned. He looks over at Alberto who patiently listens to things he rarely understands.

- (this one is just for my bi poly ass) Alberto, Luca and Giulia end up together and they own the fishing business. They live in her fathers old house and have a cat with one arm named after her dad. They are still alive now and spend all their time together.

An old man starts telling stories of sea people and another blowing kids minds about stars and galaxies. The kids just ask if monsters were real and they just look at eachother and go I don’t know about that or something and meet a woman by the ocean and a kid watched them just turn into fish in the rain or something

Ok so!! The movie is truly phenomenal and the tumblr gays are all discussing the themes in the film, but I think there’s one thing no one is saying!! Grandma fish lady just made jokes the whole movie that she goes up to the surface like Luca did. Could this be a euphemism for she has dipped her fin into the rainbow?
