In a household of three nerds, chess is serious business.

And William achieved another goal.

William aged up. So it was a busy day. He got married, moved into a new house, acquired a step-son, and aged up all on the same day. LOL

I gave him a different hairstyle in celebration. :)

So here's our new household members.

Lucinda joins the household a few days away from her "real adult" age-up. She's at Level 3 of the Science career, with her LTW to be a Creature-Robot Cross-Breeder. Her traits are Workaholic, Handy, Green Thumb, Childish, and Angler...so you can see why Story Progression put her in the Science Career. LOL

Another thing I recently started doing in my game is to randomly pick five "Lifetime Benefits" for my sims to acquire during their lifetime. They have to get them in the order I select them. I started doing this because I've never really used them, and I thought it might be interesting to do so.

So, Lucinda's "goals" in this regard are Learned Relic Hunter (which isn't useful since travel isn't allowed, but oh well.), Office Hero, Extraordinaire-inator, Inappropriate but in a Good Way, and Discount Diner.

Then there's Lucinda's son Jamaal, who is about half-way through teenhood, and teenhood doesn't last long with the way I have life stages set up in this save. I'm going to consider him a contender for being The Chosen One to move to the next round, but he doesn't really have any "compatible" traits or wants or anything that would really "fit" with that round, so I doubt he will be. But we'll see! I'll be having him work on making money anyway, just in case.

In any case, his traits are Good Sense of Humor, Great Kisser, Genius, and Daredevil, and the LTW he came with is the "nerd hunk" Become an Astronaut one, so I had him take a part-time custom military ROTC job, which only gives him work hours on the weekend. His lifetime benefit "goals" are Inappropriate but in a Good Way, Moodlet Manager, Bookshop Bargainer, Clone Voucher, and Complimentary Entertainment.

Wedding gifts!

Snowflake Day (or whatever it's called) arrived, and William had a want to go on a date with Lucinda, so they went to the festival lot, where they built a snowman...

...and got married. LOL Witnesses were the snowman they built and the guy at the food stand. Hey, just be glad they didn't get married in a bathroom in their underwear.

So, Lucinda and her son Jamaal joined the household, and William's little starter house wasn't big enough for all of them. Fortunately, between William's cash-on-hand and Lucinda's money, they were able to buy this house outright:

It's just up the street from William's and Lucinda's old houses (since they lived next door to each other). It has three bedrooms, so there's enough room for new family members, too. It used to have a horse stall underneath, as well, but I deleted that and closed off the area because they're not going to own a horse. Since the area where the stall was has a terrain "floor," I might use the area to set up an indoor garden. I just don't know if that will work. But anyway...

William and Lucinda celebrated their new house with a dramatic kiss. :)

Even William's time off is busy. Such is the life of a doctor. Well, a sim-doctor, anyway.

So it's a good thing that I finally remembered to get the poor boy some bubble bath. Gotta relieve that stress, and you can only play so many video games.

William can finally plant those Forbidden Fruit seeds! (He has like five of them now, and still has lots of experiments to do.)

But not yet. I'm going to wait until I get him and Lucinda hitched and then get them and Lucinda's kid all moved into a bigger house together before I add another sim to the mess.

Sorry for going quiet again. I've been Doing Politics again, and it's been eating my time. I'm hoping to do some pic-editing and then queue up some Globetrotter posts in the next day or so.

After they officially became a couple, William rolled up a want to kiss and go on a date with Lucinda. So, he invited her over, and they ordered a pizza. And...

Well. That escalated. True to her nature, Lucinda knows what she wants and takes matters into her own hands to get it.

Weekend time, yay!

First up, finishing up that work opportunity to meet four new people. Since he had some stuff to sell on consignment, William headed to the consignment store to psychoanalyze people complete the opportunity's requirements. There were plenty of people there to meet.

Canyon Skies.

I've been scouting around for some different worlds to use for the Globetrotter Challenge, on the (possibly delusional) assumption that I will make it past the first stage. I wasn't in love with any of the suggested options for the desert stage, so I've been looking at different custom desert-y worlds to use, and I think I've settled on this one, which is inspired by the Grand Canyon.

It has pretty scenery, doesn't include/require CC, and it has all of the things required to fulfill the challenge's goals, except for gambling facilities and a wishing well. But, one of the world's bars already has a little arcade area, so it would be easy enough to switch that out for a little gambling area instead, and I can plop a wishing well down pretty much anywhere.
