Luis Suarez and the English Media Bias
This is a post about my favorite sports team Liverpool FC, and their star player Luis Suarez.
I'm known to be a huge and loyal Liverpool fan. Despite only watching them since 2010, my love for the club is undeniable. My favorite player in the current first team is our Uruguyan star Luis Suarez. This guy can do everything; shoot, finish, dribbling, passing ability, and link up play. But the thing I love most about this guy is his passion for football and Liverpool. You can tell this guy was born to play this game. People have to consider this, Suarez plays for a very mediocre Liverpool side. He is their only world class player in the team. This guy deserves to play in the Champion's League to show the world his incredible talent. In my opinion, Luis Suarez is the 3rd best player in the world behind Messi and Ronaldo. However, his feisty and passionate personality leads him to be the poster boy for hate and ridicule by the English Media. I will explain why the English Media plays a huge role in making Luis Suarez look like a terrible person.
If you look at Luis Suarez and know about his upbringing you can see why he gets into trouble. He comes from a big family and grew up playing football on the streets. You can tell by his style of play. All of it looks self taught by playing in the streets. The guy probably isn't educated and if it weren't for football, he would be fucked. In 2011, he was charged for racially abusing Patrice Evra. From what I read, the term he used was "negrito", when literally translated means "little black man". However, as a Hispanic person I've been called this many times during my youth and presently. He wasn't racially abusing, or racially insulting the guy, if anything he described his physical appearance. Patrice Evra is a little black dude. Luis Suarez doesn't know English, and is from a part of the world where "negrito" or "negro" is not an insult, but rather a friendly term or nickname. If I were in Evra's shoes, he should have taken it as a misunderstanding. Yes, he called me a "negrito" but if I found out what it meant, I would see it as a misunderstanding and realize he didn't intend to do any harm. But because he is a Manchester United player, he took it to the English FA and Suarez was banned for 8 games for this "abuse".
While there are arguments that in England those terms aren't acceptable, but the guy doesn't know much English. I agree he should have been banned, but to be made an example wasn't the right thing to do in my opinion. Many people in England call him a racist amongst other things. He is not a racist, he was misunderstood. The English media have a huge influence on how people perceive Suarez. I don't want to pull the race card, but I feel he is portrayed in a terrible way because he's foreign and Latin American. I say this because John Terry is an Englishman that was charged for the same exact thing, there is video evidence of the abuse, and actually racially abused Anton Ferdinand by calling him a "black cunt". What does he get? A 4 match ban. Half of what Suarez got when he did the same EXACT thing. That's complete bullshit, the English bias in the media and within the FA can be seen. Terry should have been banned the same exact number or more! His incident was so serious he went to court for it! The fuck? How does Suarez have a longer ban? English bias.
The bite incident was something that I personally wished Suarez never did. It was definitely a moment of madness and it's really tough to defend him here. Biting shouldn't be a part of the beautiful game and he deserved some of the slack for it. Key words: some of the slack. However, the story is being blown way out of proportion. People are calling him to be banned from the English game and that the 10 match ban he received isn't enough. While I think 10 games is a tad harsh, there is no way he should be banned from England. The dude bit somebody. He didn't take a piece of his flesh, he didn't bite Ivanovic so hard he couldn't play for the rest of the game. While I do admit it's weird that a 26 year old man is biting someone, I saw it as a childish act. It wasn't dangerous, he bit someone. Personally, I rather be bit by someone then be elbowed, punched, or kicked. Players like Roy Keane intentionally wanted to injure another player and he didn't get a severe punishment for it. In fact, he never apologized for his actions. But the media are on Suarez's dick because it's Luis Suarez. Making a story about him will sell papers because everyone wants to see the supposed racist, cheat, dirty player get burned. In fact, Defoe did a similar incident where he bit Mascherano, yet no one says that he's a disgusting and sub human. Why? Because he's English. The hypocrisy is incredible. I guess what I'm trying to argue is that Luis Suarez is being made an example in every FA decision he gets, in which I think it's unfair. While I do think he should get professional help to improve his character, the media doesn't help Luis Suarez, instead they are destroying him.
This summer will be very important for Liverpool Football Club. I believe we will keep Suarez and we should. He is the only world class player we have. We should give him support and help as fans of this club. The love for this club is undeniable and we must show support for all he has done this season. I don't want to see him go, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Bayern, Madrid, or Barcelona. If Liverpool intend to sell, clubs will line around the block to sign him. He is that fucking good. Until then, I will continue to support my favorite player and club, and we will bounce back from this.

Dreams
I've always wanted to be a musician of some sort. I remember when I was younger, I told my mom I wanted to become a rapper. She looked at me like I was crazy or something. At that time I was so passionate about hip-hop. However, when I reached high school I turned away from rap all together. I was interested in a completely different genre than before. I bought a drum set in hopes that I could be able to make music. I self-taught myself to play it for about a year. I went to college and I tried to make a club about music because I wanted to continue to do something I was passionate about. However, that didn't work out haha. Instead, I picked up smoking weed, and in short it changed my life forever. Being in a room with people that I knew and passing a pipe/joint were unforgettable experiences. The laughs, the thoughts, and the environment is something I'll never forget. But one thing I left with these cyphers was the reinvigorated love for hip-hop. I always was a hip-hop dude until high school. Now, I want to make some music on the side. I don't consider myself a good raper per se, but I think with more practice I'll be able to master the craft.
Music is a beautiful thing and something I completely treasure. Without the music I hear, I wouldn't be the same person I am now. One of my goals before I die is to release a mixtape. The music I record, (a No Lie freestlyle, and the Yu-Gi-Oh Rap(lmao)) always bring a smile my face.

I got robbed.
Today as I was going to work, some Dominican nigga came up to me and said that I jumped his boys. He started talking to me further (in Spanish btw) saying that he had a knife in his pocket and had no problem killing me there. He then snatched my chain (that was given to me by my mother since I was 6) and my Iphone. So now, I no longer have a phone. I was shook when the situation came upon me, but now I seek to gain more confidence. I want to learn how to fight so I can defend myself if the situation ever comes again.

Hip-Hop.
Deadass, I'm loving Hip-Hop more than ever. When I was younger I would always listen to hip-hop but when I reached high school my interests changed. I still like hardcore and metal bands but I feel a different connection with hip-hop. It's a great feeling and I'm glad that I like hip-hop again.
