“Sure,” he heard himself agreeing before his rational mind could protest. She’s just a child, relax, he snapped inwardly. His suspicions were naturally rising, but thus far, the one called Pumki had shown zero signs of hostility.

Maybe if he got a look at her ship, Piccolo could decide for himself, without her convincing, that she was indeed here simply searching. Anyway, if there were more and if it was an invasion force, he felt sure he’d have sensed them by now.

She led Piccolo to her ship, then let him inside. “Feel free to look around! It’s kind of cramped, but you should be able to move just fine, even though you’re so big!” The girl rummaged in a trunk, until she found some clothes that looked rather old. “Just... stay in this area. I need my privacy.”

Humming to herself, Pumki entered the captain’s quarters. She didn’t know why she was blindly trusting Piccolo, but he gave her a feeling of comfort and wisdom... It was odd, and her mother had told her never to go off with strange men, but for the first time, Pumki felt like she wasn’t in trouble.

“Well, hopefully he’s not poking around too much...”
