The gradient purple in this gel Sugilite Cabochon makes me think of the Monkshood flower or Bell Heather. Any violet flower your thinking of?

A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca
It can sometimes be overlooked the intense force, friction and effort it can take to polish a stone. The finished stone is gorgeous. Often you can see things in a finished stone that you couldn鈥檛 see when it was rough. Though we never get to perfect, the trials of life bring out the things we couldn鈥檛 see before and betters us, unless of course it breaks us, even then it betters us. I have a box of broken gems because sadly it happens, the friction breaks them at unseen fractures. And yet, those pieces now can be finished into something new and stronger. There鈥檚 always opportunities to maximize your growth and strength.
