Soooo, with the uprising of AI, and especially AI in artistic fields, I felt this game became relevant once again. By the way who is/was your favourite? I always loved Markus the best ♥

(Also an excuse to get rid off the same face syndrome that's plaguing my artstyle lol)

A glimpse of what Jacob and Wilhelm's sibling dynamic looked like when they were children, a bit of which still applies in their adulthood.

Jacob was the neighborhood's weird kid the other boys would pick on easily because he never knew how to react. Some believed he was a changeling and would push the bullying way too far. Knowing his big brother had trouble defending himself, Wilhelm would always intervene, and though he wasn't much a threat on his own the bullies didn't risk hurting him because Wilhelm was the "popular kid", unlike Jacob.

The role were kinda reversed when Wilhelm was bed-ridden. Because of his poor health, he would often fell ill especially during season changes. Jacob would keep him company during his recoveries, doing the one thing that helped him in hard times: reading. Wilhem would say later on that those times were the reason he came to love litterature as well.

Hello, I'm still alive :)

So... After trying to work on more personal stuff, failing a bit, then taking a BIG interest in fairy tales, I came with e new, more personal webtoon project...

Meet Jacob and Wilhelm, two brothers that could not be more different from one another, yet remain incredibly bonded! One is introverted, socially anxious, a little strange yet hardworking and well-meaning. The other is extroverted, friendly, emotional but suffers from different physical conditions. Together, they are the brothers Grimm. At the beginning fo the story, they work as assistant librarians at Kassel's library right after finishing their studies. But their little monotonous lives take a turn when they find a strange codex in the forgotten archives...

I won't say too much in this post, but expect other uploads on this project in the future! :)

A little disclaimer: of course those versions of Jacob and Wilhelm, while taking a lot of inspirations from their really-life counterparts, are their own characters here and same thing goes to other historical figures who are set to appear in the story (hi Jerôme Bonaparte). I do not claim Jacob could read and translate a forgotten, magical germanic language, or that Wilhelm was a master swordman for example... XD

While I was away, I recieved quite a few asks about the Smurfs and my AU, and I decided to answer some of them in one single posts. Please know if your ask wasn't selected, it was either because they stirred away a bit too much from the main subject (the Smurfs) with unrelated media or because there was too much rambling and I want to keep the ask box for actual questions (a bit of conversation is fine, not when it's a page long...)

Well, I suppose that answer part of the question.

She'd like the girls, no doubt about that, but she and Storm would undoubtely clash often. They'd try to get under the other's skin (and it's in Vexy's name too: "to vex"). They'd still be friends at the end of the end... just not besties.

As I mentionned in a previous ask: Hefty, Handy, Smurfette and Grouchy are amongst my favourites. One I also like very much is Papa Smurf, that guy went through way too much and is still a functionnal parent!

Another one I like, but is not talked about often because he comes from the CGI movies, is Gutsy. some say it was dumb from Sony to create him, because he's basically Hefty with a scottish accent, but I disagree with the sentiment. And there aren't many fanarts of him out there... Here, let me rectify that:

Clumsy is Clumsy: stunned by the kiss, he'd fumble with his words and feet at the same time, causing him to trip on himself.

For Grouchy, I think he'd grumble a bit, say he hates the kiss, but the tomato shade on his face and the tiny, itty bitty smile he can barely contain would say otherwise!

And so, we arrive to this ask.

I have been considering making... something... But because I'm not sure I can do it, given the fact I don't have much free time on my hand and I'd really like to work on my own projects (which are already waaaaay too far behind), I won't say what it is supposed to be. Nothing is set in stone, so who knows? Maybe it will see the light of day in the future. But even so, I still want to explore my AU with you, either with fanarts or shorts stories, withing this blog, for the meantime.

In one of your recent asks you said that the Bzz Fly bite made Grouchy's eyes go red. You also said there were other things that will not go away because of the bite. What can a Bzz fly bite do and what goes away and what doesn't? I love me some lore 🍽️

*cracks knuckles* Alright, here comes the food!

Physically, beside the red eyes, his teeth also got some changes; they became sharper, because an infected Smurf need sharp teeth to pass the Bzz infection. He obliviously can't infect anyone, since he's cured, but they remained like this even after the whole incident. There's also permanent shadows under his eyes, and if you've read my little comic here you'll notice they can spread to his whole face when he's enraged.

Psychically, there is of course Grouchy's complete personnality change. He was a normal Smurf before the whole Bzz fiasco, but how much of his current personnality is due to the infection and how much is a trauma response is uncertain. What is certain is that it nearly alienated Grouchy from his social circle, because every other Smurfs were wary of both his new appareance and his sudden extreme aversion of everything. If it wasn't for Baby Smurf's unexpected arrival, nobody would have known there was still a heart of gold under all of that grouchiness.

And last aftereffect, and perhaps the most challenging for Grouchy, is the constant buzzing in his head. Think tinnitus, but instead of a whistle or humming it's like a fly has made home inside his brain and will never leave. On bad days it can even be really loud, to the point Grouchy will just sit on a bench and grouch his day away until it become more bearable.

All of this are indicators that, while he's cured and can't infect anyone, there's a remnant of the Bzz infection in his blood. Something dormant that can't hurt anyone but still impacts its host daily.

Little Vexy head canons? I have a few of my own that I like cause I like her character. A couple being Vexy is better at makeup than smurfette (but not on Vanity's level of course), she would probably be responsible for trying to teach Baby Smurf cuss words (but she does have a soft spot for the little guy), and she doesn't really know how to express her feelings properly so she shows her affection towards Grouchy with teasing, a bit of sarcasm, and the stupidest nicknames she can possibly think of (Like Grouchy-bear, Moody baby kins, angry chinchilla, etc). Though I imagine Grouchy is okay with the ones that sound the least embarrassing. I'm sorry if this is long. And that I asked it at this hour.

I like your headcanons about her weird ways of showing affection! With her background it makes sense she'd take some time to be more open with her emotions in a healthy way. But Grouchy is sorta the same, having a hard time showing his love and sometimes saying things he doesn't actually mean. That's why I like the (potential) dynamic between those two. Two broken beings so reclusive about their feelings, but finding someone who understand that the way they act isn't representative of who their are on the inside, and learning how to become better with their emotions through a love that's born on mutual ground... Excuse me while I scream into my pillow lol

And OF COURSE Vexy would love the little guy (who doesn't?). Baby's basically the the main trial through Grouchy's heart! Show you care about Baby and you're already high in his dad caregiver's esteem. And yes, she'd try to teach him how to be naughty (haha get it?) much to everyone's dismay. But he's a sweety so that doesn't work much.

This whole post about Vexy makes me think I should explore more where she stands in my AU. Hackus and Gutsy too; while I didn't like the CGI movies I cared about those three, and I'd like to integrate them in my stories.

Well, you see, I have not played Prisoner of the Green Stone yet :'D And I have no clue about what the plot is about so please, no spoilers until I can get my hand on it!

I love ur concept of the smurfs AU especially with the eye color thing! (though Grouchy seems to be the only one that has red eyes) Are there other smurfs with different eye color as well like yellow or pink? And since your AU is a mix of the 1981 show and 2021, I wonder how Greedy and Chef/Baker Smurf is implimented since they were the same smurf in one show and 2 seperate in the other. Maybe Greedy is Chefs predecessor or the other way around as a suggestion unless u already have plans for it?

Nope, it's only blue for natural-born Smurfs and turquoise for homunculi Smurfs. The reason Grouchy's eyes are red is because of the Bzz Fly's bite; it's one after-effect of the whole incident that will never go away, among other things. His eyes used to be blue before.

They are simply two separate characters in my little mix. They already were in Peyo's comics, it's HB that decided to fuse them as one entity. Greedy is not the village's cook, however I like to think Chef sometimes asks him to try a new recipe of his, knowing Greedy has good taste buds. Otherwise he keeps a good eye on him and strictly forbids him to go near the kitchen without supervision!

Are there any smurfships that you like, but don't really ship yourself? Just curious 👀

I've seen cute Hefty x Handy fanarts before, but for me they're more of a brotp than a romantic pairing, for example.

I don't have any other specific ship in mind, buuut maybe I should try that bingo thing I've seen popping in the Smurfs' tags, so I can give you my opinion on smurfships.

I'm curious about your last smurfs post - what are your other ships?

Papa Smurf x Smurfwillow (or Papawillow as I also call it), Handy Smurf x Marina and Grandpa Smurf x Nanny Smurf are amongst my top favourites.

I used to have a certain ship with Brainy too, but then NTOB punched me right in the face with his adorable interractions with Smurfblossom and, huh, let's say I have a new favourite with him lol

And I also like Poet Smurf x Painter Smurf, Grouchy Smurf x Vexy a bit too (even if it's mostly through my own interpretation of their dynamic lol) and Clumsy Smurf x Smurfstorm as well (thank you Lost Village).

I headcanon that Smurflily has a one-sided attraction to Smurfette (tragic lesbian romance my beloved), that Chef Smurf has a secret crush on Chef Toctoque (you know, that human cook in Mission Vileaf he keeps gushing about) and that Farmer Smurf is the local aromantic who likes to ship his fellow Smurfs together.

Omg I found some of your smurfs stuff and i love all of them !!! I love all the smurfs and they were part of my childhood as well. I have a lot of favorite Smurfs but my mains are Greedy, Smurfette, Sassette, Hefty, Painter, Poet, and Handy.
