The time I explored an abandoned house and found it had been made up to look like the lair of a paranoid conspiracy theorist for a stoner comedy. The most surreal part was finding a script and opening to the page that described the room I was in.

While I'm all for closing marine parks, it's pretty clear the Orcas we released are telling all the free Orcas how badly we treated them.

One of the most useful concepts in politics is the idea that people who hate and despise each other can still be objective allies if they share the same goal. Their motives and long-term objectives can be very different, so long as a short-term collaboration works for both of them.
This is the basis on which Israelis can and do argue Netanyahu and his coalition partners on the extreme right are the objective allies of the Hamas leadership in the Gaza Strip.
Their shared political goal is to thwart the famous two-state solution, in which Jewish and Palestinian Arab states would live side by side in peace on the land between the Jordan River and the sea.
A two-state solution was the original idea behind the United Nations decision to partition the British-ruled territory of Palestine in 1947. After many wars, it was again the idea behind the U.S.-backed Oslo Accords of 1993.
The ultra-nationalists on each side (including religious fanatics both Muslim and Jewish) hated Oslo, because each side wanted all of Palestine for themselves. The objective alliance between Netanyahu and Hamas began in 1996, after a hard-right Jew murdered Israel’s prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin, who had signed the Oslo Accords.

The time I made fake album covers and people thought they were real and spent days looking them up even though they knew the woman on the cover.

Casting Choices
While in the depths of insomnia I've been listening to an audiobook of Foundation and Empire. I decided that Magnifico Giganticus would ideally be played by Doug Jones. Naturally. But failing that, he should be played by 1990s Roberto Benigni. Anytime the other characters are soberly discussing the sociopolitical ramifications of psycho-history or the Seldon Plan, Benigni would be in the background struggling to perform some basic task. When they turn to look at him he's, like, sheepishly eating soup from a hat or some other ridiculous shit.

Фото Снайпер! The Photosniper! I’ve have been waiting for one of these to show up locally for about a decade, and lo and behold I found one at an antique market for about 1/3 the price I’d pay on eBay.

Ultima VI came out in 1990. On some level, I still regard the hero’s entertainment set-up as extremely sleek and cutting edge.

Twitter reminded me that Ace McShane, the last Companion in Classic Dr. Who was a 16-year-old Marxist (Implied) Bisexual Furry Arsonist. In 1987. And once she killed a Dalek with a baseball bat.
